At 6 weeks our baby looked like a runner. Now, at 12 weeks....it was a bit different. The baby kept punching and arching his back (like a really big breath). Normal? Strange? What was your baby doing?
My LO was showing up his/her acrobatic skills at 12 wk. ultrasound - turning, twisting & kicking! Next one is less than 2 weeks away - now that i'm feeling a lot more movement, it is sure to be a show!
At my 8w 6d u/s the baby didn't look like much. It had little "chicken feet" I called them and I could see the heart beat, which was cool.
At 12 weeks it was totally different! The baby kept jumping around, literally. The tech was trying to get a 3D image, which takes a second and the baby would jump every time. It was the cutest thing ever and DH said it looked like a frog jumping around. I got a "wave" and baby even stretched completly out at one point.
My baby slept. They did all they could to get the LO to wiggle around, which s/he did once and then made a movement with his/her arms that seemed to say - stop bothering me. Then went back to sleep. Just like her dad!
At 7 weeks there was no definition at all to the body. Like others said, more like a blob.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

At six weeks, the baby is a little bean with a heartbeat - what do you mean by a "runner"? At 8 weeks it was a bean with arm and leg buds. But what a big difference at the 18 week ultrasound! Moving, rolling, punching, opening and closing their mouth, etc.
At 8w3d ours looked like a gummy bear. At 12w3d, the baby looked like it was on Dancing with the Stars, but on his/her back. It was so awesome to see how much s/he's grown.

My baby was very very still at the NT scan - she's been fairly still at every ultrasound. She seemed to be sleeping, and she finally woke up and started moving toward the end, but the tech was delighted at how easy it was to get measurements from her because she was not moving much.
Ours was a blob with a definite head at 7 weeks, but at 12 weeks we couldn't get the baby to hold still long enough for a picture. Also, baby was already sucking their thumb at 12 weeks. Discovered it early I guess. DH and I were both thumb suckers and my two siblings were thumb suckers.
What I meant by this was...at 9 weeks our baby looked like it was running on his/her back. Arms were pumping and legs were kicking. (9 Weeks...sorry about that).
6 Weeks was a flashing light. (Heart beat) That is all.
Re: Baby Movements in 12 Week Ultrasound
At 8 weeks we only had a little blob, too.. nothing that you could all make sense of.?
At 13 weeks you could see a little movement... at 17 she was sleeping, I think
But at 19, she was going crazy! ?Drinking and kicking. ?She even kicked the u/s wand.
?
Oh, I had so many u/s b/c my Dr is leaving me & I think he was trying to make it up by letting me 'have a peek' at almost every appt.
Now I'm basically Dr-less b/c the new Dr hasn't called me yet
?
During my 12wk scan, there was some arching, but mostly baby stayed curled up with chin tucked.

I can't wait for my 20 week u/s!

I'm really wondering myself what she meant by that. Please explain.
At 7 weeks it looked like it was doing those crunches where you raise your knees up to meet your elbows.
At 12 weeks it was moving and kicking and punching and arching its back, rolling all over the place, etc. Very active, and very uncooperative!
