green poop at 4 months

My DS has been nursing pretty quick sessions lately and been somewhat fussy. He used to take his time all the time and that was more 20-30 minutes as opposed to the 5-10 now. Also he has had green and more frequest poops the last couple of days. So no concern that he is not getting enough but I wonder what else could be going on. I assume the quicker feeding means he is more efficient. Advice is appreciated. tia

Re: green poop at 4 months

  • From my understanding that may mean he's getting too much foremilk. DD's had green poops before but they always go away after a day or too, so I'm not really sure what it's from.
  • My pedi says that the color has a lot to do with what you are eating, the color of the veggies you've eaten, etc. and that it isn't anything to worry about.

  • My pedi says the color is not important, but that LO should have 3-4 poopy diaps each day. They will get what they need as long as you provide the opportunity...or so they tell me. GL
