Summer video monitor: does the sound suck on yours?

Ours was really staticky, no matter what we did, so we returned it to the manufacturer for a new one...and it does the same thing. We have to keep the sound on the handheld monitor down really low, and even then, it lets out loud blasts of static if one of us moves in bed or walks past it. It does this on both channels, and we've even moved into a new house since we've had it and nothing has helped.

Is this just the way they are, or did we get two bad ones somehow?

Mine does not have that much trouble. I do remember that the manual said that the number of electronic devices you ahve in your home (like wi-fi, microwave, etc.) can interfere with the monitor. I get the occassional static, but nothing major.

THe sound doesn't so much suck as it's just so LOUD! I keep it off and just use the sound monitor I bought before I bought the video monitor.

ours is like that as well - as we returned it once as well & the 2nd does the same. its better than nothing, so we have kept it

Ours never had static until we got a set of four new cordless phones. Now when the receiver thing is too close to one of the phones it has wicked static. It statics up when we walk too close to it - but only in our bedroom. It isn't too bad so it hasn't annoyed me enough to turn it down.

The sound doesn't really suck but it does make really weird annoying noises from time to time if someone is too close to it.
