Finally I'm able to write my birth story for you ladies!
I went in to the hospital for my scheduled induction on June 8th at 7:30am. They had me back into a room by 8:00am and me hooked up and pitocin started by 8:30am. My parents took me to the hospital since DH was on nights and wouldn't get home until 7:15am. But DH got a shower and made it to the hospital right before they started to put my iv in. He must have been flying to the hospital. I got sick while they did the iv due to the nurse blowing the vein in my right arm. So I threw up while she put it into my left arm.
My ob saw me at 10:30am and said that I was dilated to a 2 and about 90% effaced. He also said that I could get my epidural at any time and broke my water. When he broke it, it wasn't to bad. The contractions started to get pretty painful after that. However, I held off getting a epidural until around 2:00pm. They checked me after that and I was only dilated to a 3 almost a 4 and 100% effaced. I mainly got it because I really wanted to sleep since I woke up that morning at like 3:30am and couldn't get back to sleep. It worked like a dream.
My ob came back and saw me around 4pm and said that I was a 4 and that it would probably be around 10pm before I was fully dilated and 11pm before my baby would be there. They checked me again at 6:30 and I was a 6! I was excited because things were coming along. They came back and checked me around 8:00pm and I was fully dilated and the nurse could see the baby's head full of hair! I had felt some pressure (like I had to poop) for around 30 min before she checked me. But never having had a baby before and my epidural working so well they had to tell me when to push.
After pushing for around 30 min Avery Jessica was born at 8:33pm! I thought I was pushing hard enough but I guess I wasn't. I felt like my ob was getting upset with me for not pushing harder. Which is hard to do when you can't even feel yourself push on your lower half. Her heart rate started to drop and he said we have to get her out now. DH put his hand on my arm and then she was out in 2 pushes! We are so in love, DH a little more so I think. We had some family issues that happened but that's for another post. Here's her pic:
