What's your cloth wipe solution?

We're going 100% CD (hooray! the 'sposies are finally all gone!!) and I'm interested in using homemade cloth wipes. I'm going to make them out of flannel and possibly terrycloth -- but what solution do you use to wet them?

Please share your recipe!

Also, how do you store wipes and/or use them? Do you put a bunch into the wet mixture, or wet them as you go, or put the solution onto baby's bum and just wipe with a dry wipe?

Hints/tips/advice/recipes gladly accepted!!!

Re: What's your cloth wipe solution?

  • I have my cloth wipes in a photo box in a drawer of the dresser.  I was told to just put some of the baby wash I was going to use in a spray bottle with water and spray on, wipe off. Very easy/affordable!

  • Haven't started yet, but I've read about girls keeping a bottle of water mixed w/ a little baby wash (like California Baby) and sprayed the wipe as needed.  I think we're going to go that route b/c it seems like the most practical.

  • I pre-moisten mine with water only and then keep them in a travel wipe container.

This works best for me.  I tried the spray bottle with water and baby wash and it was just a pain in the butt.
