I am starting to think about getting a bag ready and was wondering about how long most people stay in the hospital? I know that for a c-section, it will be longer. For those of you that have had children, how long was your stay? Thanks!!
I had a C-section and was only there for 32 hours (Csection was scheduled). The baby is required to stay 24 hours...but after that if your dr "ok's" you to go you are free. They cannot legally hold you. You need to ask though, they are not going to automatically release you early. Just ask as soon as you feel up to it and they will get the process moving.
Mine was pretty long with DD. I went in Wed night to begin induction, DD was born via C on Thursday night, and they didn't let me go home until Monday. The sheer length of that is one reason among many that I'm really hoping for VBAC this time.
I was there 2 1/2 days- DS was born at 5pm Fri- went home Monday morning! C/S...
I used almost NOTHING I packed. Stayed in my hospital gown, and didn't even take a shower 'cause I didn't want to stand up that long!
I used my chapstick, toothbrush, deodorant, and crocs. Didn't even use my Brest Friend nursing pillow- couldn't make it work right with the hospital bed! Pillows were easier!
Re: how long is an average hospital stay?
"You're gonna miss this You're gonna want this back You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast..."
