Does anyone else sew the holes in DHs socks?

Or am I the only crazy one doing so?

  • I don't, and the only reason I don't is because I HATE HATE HATE touching his socks. ?I don't care if they're clean, I don't want anything to do with them.

  • Nope!  I throw them, but both of us hate the feeling of 'something in my sock' and that's the feeling a seam sewn in to close a hole would have.  It would drive me bonkers!

  • Stop being cheap and buy the poor guy new socks.

  • I do, I fix any of his clothes if they are work clothes.  Even though its his business he will still work just as hard as the employees in the shop.  So he gets holes in shirts, pants and socks all the time.
  • I fix the holes by tossing them and buying new socks.

  • Nope-I sew em too.  But only once, then they are out.  As for stinky, my DH just isn't--he will come home from a hearty workout all sweaty and still not stink, and his shoes/socks never do either.  He must be from K-Pax.
  • I just buy new socks.  In this case, time is money.

My dh is very rough on his socks. He ends up buying new ones all the time. There's no way I could keep up with him if I chose to sew them.

I am also on the once and they are out rule.  :)

  • Pfft, I don't even touch his socks unless he's left them in the living room and company is about to come over and he's not around to clean them up himself. In this house, holes in socks = buying new socks. They're not pricey enough for me to waste my time and effort sewing them.?

'course, I enjoy the "womanly chores" (insert snort here)... Actually, I just like crafty things... I usually sew up the holes with funky colors because he thinks its funny.  Anything for a smile Wink

  • I would if the sock had 1 hole and looked like it could go a while yet but more often than not he has 3 or 4 by time I see them.
  • I would if I didn't work outside the home and thus had the time.
