TTC after 35

I never say this.

But today..... I feel old.

Farrah AND Michael Jackson?

I know they both died prematurely - but still.

You know?

Re: I never say this.

  • Yeah, I know what you mean! I remember watching Charlie's Angels...and when Thriller was just the biggest thing ever.  It's strange that they are both gone now.  I do feel older than I probably should.
  • I hear ya sister. I collected the Charlie's Angels Trading Cards & I sported their lunch box  to school.  And I tried very hard to moonwalk but failed miserably...

  • You're not old.  You were just a precocious child and you have a remarkable memory.

    :)

  • I hear ya!  I loved loved loved Charlie's Angels.

  • I know.  Farrah has been sick for awhile so that wasn't as much of a shock as Michael.  Very sad.

    LOL....yes indeed!

  • I consider myself a child of the...gulp...70's, so this was a very strange day today. Feels like it's all officially "over", even though it's been over for the past 30 years. Very sad for both families.
  • I really liked Charlie's Angels as well.

  • I completely understand...I feel like part of my childhood died today too!  My Jr HS years were all about MJ...every bar and bat mitzvah I went to played him....and Farrah, who didn't want to be her??? May both there souls be at peace!
  • I had the Charlie's Angels Trading cards, too! They might even still be at my parents house! ?And Michael was such a part of my Jr high and high school years! ?I definitely am feeling 39 today. ?RIP to them both.

  • So, So very sad.

I absolutely loved Michael Jackson.  He was a brilliant talent.  I wore out my Thriller cassette tape playing it on my "Boom Box"...yes...we are officially old.

May Farrah's battered body and soul rest in peace.

  • It is so sad.  I know what you mean about feeling old.  I was talking about MJ memories, and I realized I sounded a lot like my parents when they talk about the good old days.
  • I agree - their deaths were untimely but people of my generation are starting to die and that makes me feel old.  The other thing that makes me feel old is when I see the grown children of athletes I used to watch now playing pro sports.

  • I had the Charlie's Angels trading cards too!  My friends and I played Charlie's Angels - I was always Kelly.

    Sad news indeed.

  • Totally understood.  This was a rough week.  RIP FF and MJ!!  Pieces of our past just vanishing before our eyes.
  • Yeah, I had "The Farrah" haircut and worked tirelessly to get my feathers to lay right.  Lots of Aqua Net was involved.  I had the Charlie's Angels Hideaway House.  I wasn't into Barbie, but my Charlie's Angels dolls were the best.  They all had jumpsuits with scarves tied around their necks and knee-high black boots.

My first time at cheerleading camp we had to learn and compete with a routine to PYT.  It was pretty sexy for a bunch of 14 year olds, and we were learning it at St. Mary's/Notre Dame!  We took the routine back to our school afterward, and I thought our principal would faint!  I still remember almost every move and nearly bust into it when I hear that song.

  • You know, I kind of felt the same way at first. especially when I heard about Michael Jackson. But then I watched some of the recent footage of him, and he looked really terrible. I just find it motivating to stay in shape and keep taking care of myself.
  • I'm still stunned.  This was like our Elvis dying!

  • I read somewhere today that you know you're really "grown up" when people from "your era" start passing away.
