Ummm.. a tornado just touched down...

About 20 min from my house... and right up the street from where my office is.  

I live in CT... we don't "do" tornados LOL

The weather map has BLACK on it.. not red... BLACK

Holy sh*t...

    Yikes, black is never good...

    Tornados don't bother me anymore; I'm a former "Tornado Alley" vet. Haha! When you spend a quarter of your childhood in tornado shelters, you end up spending your teen and adult years out on the deck trying to spot one. LOL

    What's your zip? I just looked for weather conditions in Middlefield , CT and I got Meridian, CT. ?And it looks like it's sunny and lovely there....

    I'm next to Meriden... it just got REALLY black.  Its getting really bad really fast.. even the weather guys are freaking out.

    I'm headed to the garage with my camera.  I'll try to get some good photos for everyone!

    I live in Maryland. We don't "do" tornados here either.

    Nevertheless, in Sept 2006 - a tornado touched down in Severna Park, MD where I'd just run into a Giant Food to pick up something. A giant cart-corral  lifted up like an air baloon or giant parachute and was thrown atop my brand new Toyota Yaris. I'd just gotten that car after some A-hole totaled my 20-day-old Toyota Corrolla I'd bought earlier that summer.

    My bf, now hubby, couldn't believe it when I called him to say I'd be late. A tornado got me. ........ had to have the entire roof of the car replaced and it's never been the same since. (a lot gets moved and shuffled when they remove the roof)

    Count your blessings. It could always be worse.

    P.S. Despite Giant Food's sign "not responsible for damage to vehicles by shopping carts".... I threatened to sue them for not bolting down the cart-corrals. It took less than a week for them to think about that before giving me a rental and having my Yaris repaired. Those damn cart things still aren't bolted down to this day.

    omg scary!!! Do you have your plan in place? Bathroom no windows or basement? I was in one once (we don't really have them in MD either) and I still have nightmares!

    I was in the hospital with mono. I barely remember the day-of news footage of the twin towers. So I can't say that I remember the tornado.... but I was delirious, spiking a 104 fever, so I believe you.  =)   One in this lifetime is one too many.

    Do you still live in MD???
