Thoughts on the Baby Bjorn?

I know some people use one and others say it is horrible for baby's hips. Anyone here use one? How did you decide if it was right for your baby? We have one that was given to us by a friend of a friend... just not sure if we'll use it or not. I'm considering it because DH is big guy and this is one of the carriers that will actually fit him.

    We used it when ds was a few weeks old and he seemed to like it.  We woud go on walks and he would actually fall asleep.  DH has even used it while vacuuming (LOL!) and ds fell asleep.  Now if we use it, he hates it.

    DD hated it when she was in there facing me.  When she was old enough/big enough to turn around, she liked it much better.

    I didn't feel very secure when he was little but he likes it now that he can face out.

    I love ours - no problems with it.  She loved it facing in and out.  She would fall asleep in it when she was little.  I have the one with back support which I hear is very important for it to be comfortable.  I still use it a lot so we dont have to bring a stroller.

    Was one of the only carriers he liked.  His legs spread easily, and he could face in or out, which I liked.  As they get heavier, it's harder on your shoulders.

    Love, love, love!  I have two.  We left ours at home when we left for two months.  DH and I were frantic!  We bought a new one in Greece, so now we have two.  The best thing about this carrier is both you and DH can use it.  I used mine when Y was five weeks to now that he is 21 lbs.  I was just wearing him around the house today.  :)  

    Also, Yianni has GERD so the peanut shell was USELESS!  Also, it felt like he was going to fall out.  He needed to be upright and secure.  We tried two or three other carriers--chicco and a Euro brand, but nothing compared to the Bjorn.

    And here it is on the island of Chios.  I'm posting this picture so you can see the hip.  Y is very comfortable; he can even fall asleep in it.  I have those pix too!
