Re: A poll about BFPs and job prospects
that's a hard one. i voted for stay where you are, but really it was too hard to decide. a lot to consider.
1. what about health ins, are you on DH's plan?
2. maybe you can leave old job when you have a baby and start another job when you are ready to go back to work?
tough one.
On DHs plan but my benefits will start immediately.

agree w/pp -- depends on job - what'll you be doing. not just heavy lifting - but think about stress too (stress of changing jobs, etc.). sometimes change is exactly what you need - sometimes it is not.
also what benefit is the new job (more moola, happiness, benefits) -- both now, and post baby arrival?
if it all adds up - I say take the job and don't tell til later.
Good luck (hypothetically!)
Exactly this!
On DH's Insurance.

what is their policy on maternity leave? Most places youneed to be there ayear before getting paid maternity.
BFP #2 = 3/30/09 DD born 12/9/09
BFP #3 = 5/17/11 EDD = 1/27/12

Hey Jen! I'm late on replying to this post, sorry! I've been at my current job for almost a year and a half, but when I got my BFP, I had only been working here for like 2 weeks. I was nervous about maternity leave and all that stuff, but found out every employee is eligible for short term disability (that's what our maternity leave falls under) as soon as they become an employee. I still didn't tell anyone that I was pregnant until 17 weeks, I thought I was in the clear and it was safe to tell co-workers. I had my m/c a week after I told them. But they were very nice about giving me time off while I was in the hospital, then at home recovering from the d&e. They didn't even take vacation/sick days from me!
So, I wouldn't let your pregnancy get in the way of accepting a new job, but I wouldn't tell them right away. Wait until the 2nd trimester. In the meantime, look into their benefits, maternity leave, etc.
Good luck with your decision!
