TTC After a Loss

How do you plan for vacations while TTC?

We want to go to Hawaii next spring or summer for our anniversary.  However, if I do get pregnant especially if it happens soon, the timing may not be okay.  I could either be very pregnant or just have had a baby...

I hate to not plan vacations, especially since this could take awhile and if it doesn't happen in the next year or so, I don't want to have regrets...  I guess we could just book and hope for a partial refund...

How do you guys handle TTC and future plans like vacations?

  • I have learned that you just need to live your life.  Don't make plans around being pregnant because if aren't you'll be disappointed and feel like it was all for nothing.  So I say plan your vacation, purchase the trip insurance just in case you get KU, that way you can cancel and only be out a couple hundred bucks.  Have fun!

    I agree with this completely.

  • Plan it and get the insurance.  That way if you need to cancel you will get a refund.  You never know what the future will bring and personally, I don't plan on putting my life on hold anymore.  I've already done too much of that. Sad

Hawaii is beautiful!  I would def. book it!

Ditto this. DH and I debated about this about 5 months ago...should we plan a trip, shouldn't we, etc. Well, we decided to just live life and purchase trip insurance. Well, I never got KU, and we are headed to Florida next month to go to Disney World and a cruise to the Bahamas. I am so glad we didn't decide not to go based on "what ifs." I'd be ever more disappointed today to be sitting here not pregnant AND staying home for no good reason.

  • Sorry I don?t have much advice to offer, but I am kinda feeling the same way now. I live in Cancun, been here a year and I seem to go home every 3-4 months or so. I know this is gonna be an issue when I get pg. Especially when my cravings kick in and I WONT HAVE ALL THE AWESOME DRIVE THRUS!!!!!! Guess mom will just have to come down here!

but yeah an anniversary trip is not worth taking a chance on. You need that girl! Just read all the fine print and the policies REAL well... coming from somone who works for a travel agency : )
