Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Vent: "Where are your shoes?"

People ask this constantly to DS - um, yeah, like he's going to answer.

A) It's none of your damn business.

B) It's summer. Lay off. He's got socks on, you nosy bastard.

C) He has block feet and NO shoes fit him (and I refuse to pay $$$ for shoes that he does NOT need).

People suck and I am in a b!tchy mood. Devil

  • I find it funny that the devil emoticon is the #6 in brackets. LOL

  • I get asked the same question all the time! If we are in Wal-Mart and she is in the cart, and not walking yet, why the hell would I torture her and myself with putting shoes on?!

Even when we got her 1 yr. pics taken the photographer kept asking "are you sure you don't want shoes on her?", um no.

  • I've been getting these annoying comments since dd was tiny. I just ignore the annoying people!
  • My number one newest pet peeve is when people passively insult your parenting skills in the form of a cute statement to your child. It's not cute and it makes me want to smack a b!tch.

  • "In his closet. Where are your manners? Did you leave them in your closet too?"
  • Yes. Everyone asks. Colin does own shoes (of course I had to buy them), but he kicks them off! So now I have to go searching in ShopRite for his $30 Nike's. LOL yeah, he wears them out once in a while, but mostly just socks. People are so annoying with their dumb questions.

    ditto.

"ohh you must be so hungwy/tiwwwerdd!!!!"

shut up.  he is learning how to use his voice and likes to yell.  the only shoes that fit him are his crocs, and he likes to chew on them.

Yes.  I like this.  I also like the idea of coming back and saying to your child "Is the rude lady done insulting your mommy now?"

I never put DS in shoes and will not until he can walk. He doesn't wear socks either because it's 110 degrees outside and that would just be mean.

Last week a family "friend" went off on me for not feeding my baby and he must be "so hungry" because he's "so skinny". Yep, my 20 pound 6 month old is starving. Thanks for the advice.

  • too funny! DS has never even worn shoes because he kicks them off immediatly anyway, I have never gotten this comment.

    but,

     that would annoy me.

Agreed.  My DS's feet are too chubby to comfortably wear shoes, and besides that he finds a way to pull them off.  Forget it, it's summer anyway.

  • People are dumb. I never put shoes on my babies until they reach a year old. If we're going to be in air conditioned places for a long time, then DS wears socks, but never shoes until he starts walking.
