My twin DD's will be 6 mos. next week. I have been feeding them oatmeal once a day, every other day, and everyday four 8 oz. bottles, one every 4 hours. I am afraid that I have not been aggressive enough with feeding them solids & that they are behind. I gave them Stage 1 squash today for the 1st time, and together they ate 1/2 container. The are getting the hang of it - but really didn't like cereal much at first and resisted.NOw they eat it, but still spit some out sometimes. I am worried, pls. help!...
Please tell me what your 6 month old eats - how much & at what time of the day, including bottles & any solids! TIA
p.s. - when do you start to feed them 3 meals a day instead of on a 4 hour schedule?
when do you reduce the amounts of their bottles in lieu of solid food?

We just bumped our little guy up to three full containers of solids a day. Fruit in the morning, Veggie at lunch and Veggie at dinner. He drinks 5 5 oz bottles also during the day. He is on Stage 1 - but we started at four months.
He had severe reflux that is why we started early. Most people don't start solids until 6 months so I think you are doing great! They still need to get their nutrients from the formula.
every kid is different. My Lo wanted up to 40oz a day of formula, so my doc said to start on solids. She's on 3 meals a day.
morning - cereal w/applesauce (little bit)
lunch and dinner - veggie
she also gets 5 6oz bottles of formula. Sometimes she'll get 4 6oz bottles and 1 3oz before bed. depends how early she's up in the morning and how close feedings are before bed.
