My appt went well this afternoon. Preterm labor wise, everything is looking good. I will see him weekly, and he will start doing internals next week - didn't want to do one today since I have been doing okay and he doesn't want to cause cramping. He is happy that I can go 6 hours between doses at night and not have much in the way of breakthrough contractions, so that is a good sign. The plan is to stay on bedrest and meds another 2 weeks, and then probably let nature take its course.
I will have another u/s tomorrow to check Luke's growth and my fluid. If everything looks okay, he will space them out to every 2 weeks. As far as his heart, everything is still wait and see. The OB and the cardiologist see no reason he won't tolerate labor, so I should still be able to deliver vaginally. Once I am in labor, cardiology will be notified. Luke will not immediately be admitted to the NICU unless he is in distress after he is born. He will probably have multiple echos to monitor the changes in his aorta as he transitions from fetal to extrauterine circulation.
I feel pretty good about the appointment, and got all of the questions answered that I can at this point. They want to involve a genetic counselor to test DH and I, but probably not until after I give birth. We have no family history of this, so, if it does turn out to be Marfan syndrome, either a) one or both of us is a carrier or b) it is a genetic mutation.
Thanks for your continued thoughts and prayers!
Re: Back from OB (kinda long)
Thanks for the update! Sounds like the appointment went well.
I'll keep you and little Luke in my thoughts over the next few weeks. Hang in there! ::hugs::

Thank you IVF for our little miracles!!
Having a plan has been my biggest issue. I am SUCH a planner! My friends in the NICU have been coming up with a plan as far as who will get to take care of him (I'm sure as a nurse, you have coworkers you would and would not want to take care of family) and working out the details, but hopefully they will not be necessary.
Glad you had a productive appointment. I know this must be stressful. Thank you for keeping us all updated.
I'm glad your appointment went well, and that the meds are holding the contractions at bay. Still thinking of you and Luke!
