  • We did them for our wedding. We made 2 different ones; one contained songs we used during our ceremony & reception. The other one included just cute or funny love songs.

  • We did one for our wedding.  It had cute love songs and songs that were important in our courtship.  I think you can put pretty much anything on so long as it is by some stretch of the imagination relevant.
  • there is a post back a few days about this.  They used songs that had the name baby or child or something in essence to children.  "sweet child o'mine", etc..

Thanks, I hate that the search function never works.

I figured since it will be mainly Mom's at the shower, a cd that isn't just full of lullabies but songs for all Moms might be nice.

  • I am actually putting one together for my shower as a thank you for my guest.   Here are the songs I have come up with (I'm obviously not using all of them) -- It's a big list so far and I'll probably just tailor it to songs about little girls since that is what we are having.  Have fun and pardon my spelling/typos (I am trying to hurry)

     My Wish - Rascal Flatts

I hope you Dance - LeAnn womack

    Lullabye - Billy Joel

Isn't she Lovely - Stevie Wonder

    Butterfly Kisses - Bob Carlisle

    A Mother's Prayer - Celine Dion

In My Daughter's Eyes - Martina McBride

It won't be like this for long - Darius Rucker

Suddenly I see - KT Tunstall

I knew I loved you - Savage Garden

    Blessed - Elton John

    Litty Bitty - Alan Jackson

I loved her first - Mark Hills

My Little Girl - Tim McGraw

    My Girl - Temptations

Beautiful in my eyes - Joshua Kadison

    Amazing - Janelle

    Arms Wide open - Creed

In my Arms - Plumb (<-- gorgeous song - a real "must")

There goes my life - Kenny Chesney

All American Girl - Carrie Underwood

    Watching You - Rodney Atkins

    Beautiful Boy  - Celine Dion

Daddy's Girl (not sure who sings this - still researching)

    Stealing Cinderella - Chuck Wicks

I saw God today - George Strait

  • Thanks again.

    I found a few more...

  • I received one as a wedding favor. It was just their favorite love songs. I was looking at the other posts and thought I'd throw this suggestion out there:

Dixie Chicks- Lullabye. I LOVE that song!!!

  • So is this a good idea for a shower favor or thank you?  I don't think they'd be that expensive to make.

Would you be happy to receive one at a shower?

  • I never turn down free music!  We did them as a favor at our wedding and we got a couple compliments on them later on.  I was surprised about that.

I've never seen them for a baby shower, but received plenty for wedding favors.  At first when this became a trend, I thought it was interesting, however, DH's cousin did one for her wedding and the music on it is just aweful.  They must have very odd taste in music, and to each their own, but giving a CD out to that many people with songs that no generation has ever heard really isn't a good idea, IMO.  Since then I've thought edible favors are a much better idea.
