Indiana Babies

End of an era.

I just took out my belly button ring.

I've had that thing forever. I feel a little sad.

Of course, I don't go about wearing mid-driff tops and Abe wasn't really ever a fan so what was the point, anyhow? Wink Plus, I don't want to mess with it later on when I'm (hopefully) pregnant and it becomes painful.

I don't really know why I felt the need to write about that. I just did.

  • I just have to say that I hope your next to get on the pregnancy bandwagon we've been having.  Your chart looks great!!!

  • One of my cousins wore her belly button ring the entire time she was pregnant.  lol.

That just gives me the willies! Eek!

I'd had it for seven years. It was time!

  • I kept mine through the majority of my pregnancy (bought a longer barbell - they make them for pg women).  Anyway, I ended up taking it out about a week before I went into labor.  Good thing too, because with a c/s they take it out for you anyway.

I have a little bit of stretch marks now around where the ring was, but it's not really noticeable.  I miss it, but I am glad I didn't have it post partum.  It was kind of gross w/ a pg belly - the thought of it with my jiggly post partum-ness makes me want to hurl.

    Ick!

That paragraph is basically the main reason I took it out. All of it. ::shudders::

  • I felt a little nostalgic when I took mine out, too. When I was like 25 and realized the only other people at our family reunion with them still in were Brian's ex-stripper cousin and his 19-year-old college student cousin, I thought it was time to move on. ::sigh::

What remains isn't all that pretty during pregnancy. Don't say I didn't warn you.

  • I never gave in to the belly button ring craze when it went around my school.  I did, however, get a tattoo the day I turned 18 and that's not quite as easy to get rid of. Wink
  • Shauna, I have both... or had.  My belly ring is gone.

I'm thinking about getting another tattoo, though.  I just can't get away from my inner trashy.  ;)  I'm kidding - I don't think tattoos are trashy, but MH does.

  • Beth, if it makes you feel better, I have more tattoos than Abe and I would like at least one more, maybe a few. Abe's not too keen on the idea either. I love them.
