No, you're not a freak. I was a little sad too. It's like saying good bye to their infancy, no more baby anymore. It would be especially sad if I knew he was going to be my last, so I would say that you are totally normal!
It was very bittersweet for me. She is so much fun now, but I just keep thinking about how fast the year went and how she'll never be this little again.

You're not a freak... it's been on my mind all week. I get misty thinking about it, even though I hated the new-newborn stage and DS has never STTN. It just went so fast, and he's changed so much, and once you count their age in *years* they seem so old. He may be our one and only, so it's extra bittersweet for me.
Of course; totally normal to be bittersweet, I think, and especially if you know you're only going to have the one baby. But on the bright side, think of all the cool things he's going to be learning how to do in the next 6-12 months; it'll be amazing to watch! (While you're busy running after him, that is; incredible how quickly they can move now, isn't it??)
Re: Lame, but was anyone sad when their baby turned 1?

I love these two beautiful children!
Yes!
Like the others said, very bittersweet. To think back how tiny she once was and how big she is getting and how much she's learning.....
