DH was going to buy a case of them today but I told him not until I talked to the girls on the Bump to make sure they hit standards. Tell me the good, the bad and the ugly.
TIA.

We use them, but didn't unti he was older. I don't think they start until size 2 or maybe 1/2. We used Pampers Swaddler & Cruisers then I moved into Kirkland or Huggies (from Costco) at size 3.

Yeah, they dont' have newborns, so there's no point getting them now. But we use them. I think we started in size 3's or 4's. But they're just fine. Not as soft and luxurious as the Pampers Swaddlers but they do the trick and my kid didn't complain with the switch.
We used them for a while, but we switched to Parent Choice Brand (WalMart) which was cheaper. Plus our WalMart and Costco are in the same area, so it wasn't like we were going out of our way to go there.

I love them! They are similar to Huggies, but work better for the same price, I think. I didnt like Pampers Swaddlers b/c of the mesh liner thing in them, it would always stick to ds's skin and it was just a pain. They start at size 1/2, so we use Target brand newborns, which were fine and cheap

yup, like pp's said, they are not for little ones. They don't start until size 1-2 so you really do have awhile. We loved the Pampers Swaddlers/Huggies Gentle Care. I would switch back and forth depending on if I had a coupon. Newborn, then size 1. You won't switch to Costco until almost size 2. They are not as nice as Pampers, IMHO, but we use them because the price it right! WHen you get a mover, the Pampers cruisers are soooo nice. It was tough to go back to Kirkland Sig,
We started off and on since that size 1-2, but now are steady in a size 4 for about a year now.
We had leaks in them for over night (their sizes seem to not go up as high lb wise as pampers) but use them for day care during the day since they are changed every 2 hours at day care.
I think Target is running their buy 2 pampers get a $5 gift card promo right now if you stock up on Pampers swaddlers. Register for Pampers rewards program and you get emails about specials.
oh also diapers.com gives like $10 off your first order and if you have multiple email addresses you can refer a friend and they can use the $10 off and the referral discount code. Load up !

We tried them and hated them. We're a Pamper's family though and from what I here the kirkland brand is more like huggies. Who knew I would become such a diaper snob!
We've used them since M was a couple months old - before that we used Pampers Swaddlers but switched for cost. I've never had a problem with the Kirkland brand. Costco sells Kirkland and Huggies, and I actually didn't like Huggies, we had a lot of leaks with Huggies and no problems with the Kirkland. I think I heard someone say Huggies works better with boys, but I'm not sure.
Yeah, I've heard they're more like Huggies too. But I think they're jsut their own thing. I HATED HATED HATED Huggies in the early times. I would only use Pampers Swaddlers at first.
And yeah, you'll need newborns then 1's before you can even consider the Costco ones. At some point, you could get samples of Costco diapers so you could try them. Ask around with your friends or play groups and see if you can borrow one to give it a try.
I think it's honestly going to depend on your baby. The only diaper I've heard general all around raves about are Pamper's Swaddlers. Other than that it kind of depends on how your baby is shaped/moves, etc.
I've heard Kirkland diapers are pretty much the same as Huggies. I hated Huggies -- they leaked for both of my babies.
I used Swaddler's until the twins grew out of them (they go to size 2-3) and was so sad when they didn't fit anymore. Then I tried Pamper's Cruisers and they were fine but expensive. Now I use Target brand "Up and Up" which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. They are super cheap and fit a lot like Pamper's. I just bought a box of size 4 (86 in a box) and they were about $15 after tax. I could buy two boxes of these for the price of one box of Cruisers. I think the Cruisers box has about 150ish (likely a few less) and costs at least $10 more.
We tried them and like pp gave the box away! We used pamper swaddlers in the nb size for at least 2 months before we switched to size 1. We still use Cruisers though I buy them at bru because you get more diapers for the money than target. For instance I pay $40 for 124 diapers at bru but $30 for 88 at target. I wouldn't stock up on a lot of diapers at first because you could potentially end up with a ton of one size that you have outgrown!
We had leaks in them for over night (their sizes seem to not go up as high lb wise as pampers) but use them for day care during the day since they are changed every 2 hours at day care.
Do you just buy a bigger size for night time? I know a lot of people have to buy bigger sizes for night - even in Pampers.
Re: Kirkland Diapers - need honest feedback
My friend swears by them. Here's her post where she touches lightly on the subject....

And this one she talks a little bit about sizing...

Just tried them and love them! Have had no problems with them whatsoever. We did end up getting a size larger. DS is 21lbs and we use the size 4.
If you buy them and don't like them, Costco has an awesome return policy. They take back anything!
