Pressure and PMS like feeling - WDYT?

I have been feeling a lot of pressure the last few days along with what feels like my period starting.  Noting to crazy with the cramps but enough for me to think "wow, this is weird, I have not felt these in a long time"

I do not want to get overly crazy so I have not called my doc but then I read stuff in my books that tell me all kinds of crazy signs for pre-term in multipes gets me thinking.  Pressure is normal at this stage right? or should I call just in case it is something more serious?  (I have never been one to "jump" or freak out so that is why I have not said anything to my doc yet...)

  • If you are at all unsure, call. Your concern is not being thought of as overly crazy, your concern is making sure that a feeling isn't anything more than that. Think of it this way - if it did turn out to be something, wouldn't you regret not having done something? Just call, then you know.

  • I'd call just to be on the safe side since you're having a cramping feeling - especially since it's been a few days.

I'd say pressure is normal, but the cramps would make me call.

  • Call - I was having the same symptoms for 3 days last week and my OB wanted to see me that same day I called him.  Turned out to be nothing, but he told me to always call just in case for multiple pregnancies.
  • I think you should call ASAP.
  • I would call and touch base with the doctor and let him know what is going on and see if he wants to see you. My doctor likes me to call whenever something changes from what I have been experiencing.

  • Call.

I don't want to freak you out, but I never felt "contractions" with my twins, I just had cramping up until my water broke.  I would always call, esp. at 31 weeks.

  • I had something similar last weekend so I called my doc's office on monday and spoke to her nurse.  She said that just a few irregular ones is nothing to worry too much about but that I should continue to stay hydrated and monitor.  If they start getting more regular to call back.

I am not usually one to call the doctor for every little thing but in this case, I think that it's always a good idea to call and just let them know what's going on.  It's free, right?  And although I get a ton of info from the internet, you are paying your doctor to care for you, and they do this for a living, vs. what you read online which is a lot of random personal experiences (like mine, above!).  So, it can never hurt to call - probably they will tell you what they told me in which case, you have some peace of mind!
