I know this has been asked before, but for some reason the bump will not let me search this morning.
Just wondering, what do you think are items that I should leave off the registry altogether? (b/c they're too personal, i.e. nipple cream, or b/c you will get tons anyway, i.e. clothes)
TIA!!
Re: Registry Question
I have all of the breastfeeding stuff on there, but no one is buying it. ?At least it is on there for the discount later.
No need to register for clothes or blankets. ?You get a ton. ?I've also gotten a ton of little toys and teethers.?
Mine was more of a shopping list so I put everything. When I realized that my family/friends were buying us gifts and using the registry I took off things like nipple cream and nursing bras because that's personal. I still left the pump on though.
I would leave clothes off. It's really hard to find an exact outfit off of a registry when you go in to a store. If you want things like white onesies, you can register for that because its easy to find. But I wouldn't put outfits. I know some people add toys but I would leave it off too.
I didn't register for creams, etc. because I felt they were too personal. I plan to add them to my registry now that my shower's done so I can use my completion coupon on them.
The only clothes I registered for were a couple packs of onesies and shirts. If people want to buy clothes for my LO I'm going to let them pick out what they want to buy, not dictate which shirts I want with which pants & particular socks/hats/etc.
Thanks so much ladies. I decided to take off the nipple cream and nursing pads...and I took off a couple of outfits. But I left on packs of onesies, socks, etc.
What do you think about things that BRU says are "must haves" like q-tips? I feel sort of silly having them on there, because they're like 2 dollars, but I'm afraid if I take them off the registry I will forget. And what about toiletries (diaper cream, baby shampoo, etc)??
I have toiletries and medicines on mine too. ?I actually got some of the baby shampoos and stuff.?
I don't think it is a problem at all to leave on the cream and breast pads. In fact the last baby shower I went to my gift was the manual pump she registered for, plus the breast pads on her registry and bottles and the bottle dryer thing on the registry. It all went together good, and it was stuff she clearly wanted anyway.
For my registry, I have them on there. Maybe someone will buy them, maybe not. If for some reason I go early and haven't had a chance to buy them, then DH has an easy was to buy what I need in that department. I can imagine asking an employee for help finding something on the registry would be easier for him than having them show him a ton of nipple creams and breast pads and have to choose one himself, haha.
I left all clothing and blankets and toys off of our registry. I just had a shower and got tons of clothes and blankets so I'm glad I didn't put them on there too. Since only a few people shopped off of the registry, I'm glad that their options were more the essentials.
