We're renting a beach house for a few days at the ocean and it's killing me. I'm so dang tired of chasing babies, trying to convince babies not to touch everything in the house, keep them entertained with very few of their usual toys (and didn't even think to bring an emergency copy of the Wiggles for meltdowns), etc.
We went to the beach today and Charlotte had a hysterical screaming fit at the very experience. I was finally able to calm her down by rocking her, singing, and cuddling... for the entire rest of the time, that's what she/we did. Alice ran all over the beach and couldn't have cared less if anyone was even with her. They are so funny!
The girls are eating dinner now, then it will soon be time for their bedtime bottle, then bed for them, then BBQ'ing dinner for me and the older kids, then the older kids want to go in the hot tub and watch a movie, then we'll have s'mores, then they will finally go to bed around 9'ish. Meanwhile, I'm DEAD. Just plain dead.
Vacation. Ha!
Re: This vacation is exhausting... (and PIP)
Is it wrong that I think that picture is hilarious?
We had a similar experience at the beach last month and have a similar picture too. Apparently sand is not all that exciting.
Love the suit. M loves the sand. And the water. She was pretending to be a duck in the water the other day.
But I can't believe you attempted that all by yourself. I have just one child and it took my friend and I all day to prepare and get out of the house for a late afternoon picnic on the beach this weekend. You're much braver than I.
