Honest question: Drinking in public

So I've been dying to get out and have a margarita with a girl friend. Is it horrible if I have the baby with me and am drinking a margarita at a restaurant? Of course I would feed him right before and I'm not planning on having more than one little 10 oz drink. WDYT?

I had a perfect margarita at Applebee's after my brother's graduation and I had DD with me. It was quite possibly the best drink I have ever had. You deserve it, I don't see a problem with it at all.

It's funny you posted this because last night DH and I went to a chinese restaurant and took DD, and DH ordered a drink and I was also a little hesitant. But I ordered a vodka cranberry anyway and it was fine, no weird looks lol. But I still felt a little funny!

I don't see anything wrong with it though as long as you're not hammered by the time you leave.

I would. It's not you're going to get plastered. Last night, I went to dinner w/ DH and MIL. DH had a few beers as did MIL. I had a Malibu BayBreeze. DS was with us.

If moms can't even have a drink if their baby is w/ them, then this world has gone WAY too far in.... PC'ness? That isn't even the issue, but you know what I mean.

Personally I don't think it's horrible but I'm sure you'll get responses or looks from people who don't agree. DH and I went out to dinner and I had a glass of wine and got stared at and talked about by a couple at a different table. It made me so mad, one glass of wine sure wasn't going to 'do me in'. DH gave them a few words as they walked by to leave. It's not like I was out getting drunk, I was having dinner and one glass of wine.

If I saw someone drinking I wouldn't care at all. For all they know you could be FF right??? I took DS to a pub w/ my ILs 2 weeks ago and I didn't get any weird looks at all.

drink! who cares? there is nothing wrong with it! I think I had a beer everyday a few days after i got home. I wasn't out with her in restaurants because it was dead of winter and we were never out but absolutely would!

I wouldn't even think twice about it, enjoy your drink! I understand though - I'd feel a little wierd too the first time (I haven't done this myself, we haven't gone out to eat with LO yet but once we do I am sure I'll have a drink).

no...i have done it several times

i mean i am not in a bar at 10pm with my kid, but i meet my gfs for dinner sometimes and we have a drink here or there. i dont see anything wrong with it! enjoy
