Thumb Sucking

I'm an aunt of  an 11 year old boy, who is still sucking his thumb. His mother and I are wanting some suggestions of how to stop the situation. His mother feels he is socially withdrawn because of it. Any help appreciated!

    I'm sorry I posted in the wrong section.

     

    My nephew does have some ADHD symptoms and anxiety issues. He does his thumb sucking in private mostly.  I think it is mainly when he in nervous or anxious that he acts out this way.

    I was just looking for any suggestion on help to help him stop because he has shown an interest into wanting to quit. I did some research on google and think I found what I'm looking for. Thanks
