3rd Trimester

What was your LO's est. weight at 36w?

I went today and dr. said she was small but it was okay.  She was measuring about 5lbs 13oz.  Dr. said it was better to be small than big.  What did you LO weigh at 36w?  Thanks!

Re: What was your LO's est. weight at 36w?

  • At 37 weeks he weighed 6lb 8oz and the u/s tech said that it could be off by about 1/2 lb.  That was a level 2 ultrasound.

  • 6lbs11oz - or so they say
  • I just went in today, she weighs 5 lbs 1 oz... what really matters is what growth percentile they came up in... 5lbs 13 oz seems like a good size to me :)
  • At 35 weeks, LO was estimated to be 5lbs 2 oz

  • I don't get growth u/s, but at my appt last week the doctor said my belly was measuring a little small, which meant he would be 6-6.5lbs at birth.  Who knows.

  • I was about 6 1/2 lbs....you sound normal to me.

  • She was in the 30th percentile.  I really need to figure out the whole percentile thing...I'm lost on it!
  • At our 36 week growth scan he was 5 lbs 8 oz. I forget what the percentage was but it was about 50% and my doctor said he was "a great" size. I would not worry it - sounds like you are right on target! I believe they only get concerned if you fall below the 10% mark, at least that is what I have read.

That just means that out of 100 babies, 70 of them would measure bigger.

  • At 34w, LO was measuring 5 lbs 12 oz.  She's probably at least 7 lbs by now.
