I keep seeing different due dates for multiples. My doctor hasn't mentioned this, so I'm just wondering what it is based on? Does every twin pregnancy have the same general adjusted due date, or is it based on your doctor's recommendation? I just say that I'm due January 15th (40 weeks)!
Re: Adjusted Due Date
The reason I ask is because I've actually seen people talk about adjusted due dates on this board a lot lately! Seemed like there was clarification between a 40 wk. due date and somewhere around a 37-38 wk. due date.
My "due date" is 11/11 but since my doctor won't let me deliver past 38 weeks I say I'm due 11/4 because I know I can't go past that 38 week mark.
For purposes of answering the question, "when are you due?" I always say "Nov 4th I am considered full term at 38 weeks" or something like that.
My due date was never changed because of twins. I was always due on June 10th, but knew they would come earlier. There are some women that I have seen online that do go to 40 weeks with twins, but that is rare. So when anyone asked I always said June 10th, but that I am expecting to deliver earlier because of them being twins.

The babies development is based on the 40 week due date, however like someone else said, most doctors will not let you go past 38 weeks so many people use that as their due date. Sometimes it is just easier to say the 38 week date than to take the time to explain how it works.
When people ask me, I just tell them sometime between July 10th and August 7th, even though our 40 week due date is August 21st.
