i called my ob's office saturday and left a message, hoping they would call me today and maybe get me in this week. the lady called me this morning and i told her everything that has been going on. she even got my pharmacy info in case he wanted to call something in for me. [i don't like the idea of his prescribing things over the phone but it's better than ignoring me]
i've had spotting during my lp since january and the last couple of months it has gotten heavier and lasted longer. last cycle it was 5-11 dpo with some red bleeding mixed in. this cycle it began at 4/5 dpo [i think ff is a day off on my O date] with a gush of red blood and a couple of clots and since then it's been only pink spots when i wipe.
so i have waited all day to hear something and my dr. just finally called me back and i expected him to get me in to start firguring out what to do. he suggested i give it 3-4 more months and if it persists to come in and get tested for low progesterone. he said maybe i'm not ovulating regularly and i explained to him i know i am and when.
he acted like i didn't know anything about my own fertility [and i'm sure most of his patients don't] but i tried to ask him if maybe my taking b6 this cycle has kept the bleeding to a minimum because i know it helps a lot of women, even if i don't have a short lp. he said no, b6 doesn't cause annovulation. EXCUSE ME? what are you talking about/ did you hear anything i said or bother to read what your secretary wrote down? obviously not.
so now i guess i will need to get a new ob and i don't even know how to go about switching over everything. this is really just my complaining but now that i think about it does anyone know if my regular physician can/ will test my progesterone levels? i know it's at a certain point in the cycle it needs to be checked but i would like to avoid going to an re until i know what the issue is.
vent over, thanks for letting me share.
Re: ob vent! [long, sorry]
i just didn't know if it was like a traditional blood test or what, if i asked him i'm sure he would do it. he's kind of the first guy i'm supposed to go to and he can help refer me to the best specialists and get me in asap so i wasn't sure if it was something that could be done in a regular dr. office.
Your ob is a jerk for not giving you his full attention, and for brushing you off like that.
I agree with the pp that said to ask your local board for recommendations.
