Lately, I've been stressing over not having everything done - i.e. baby clothes not washed, bottles not boiled, not having my hospital bag packed, etc. I 'm 35 weeks today so i have some time but I keep thinking what if I go into labor 4 weeks early? Anyone else with these crazy thoughts?
Re: Anxiety about not being prepared.
I have to giggle a little because I was the same way 6+ weeks ago...and now I sit. Completely over-prepared, overdue, and wishing I had saved some stuff to do this week.
But honestly, it'll get done! Try not to stress about it - as long as the baby has a place to sleep, something to eat, and diapers, the rest of the details can be figured out.
I'm right there with you. Have been thinking about all the things needing to be done, whether we'll have finished everything in the house, have enough food, money etc. Its driving me nuts! As for the hospital bag, I will probably not do it until 36 weeks. And yes, I worry about going into labor early and not having everything done too. You're not alone!
First of all, relax
it will all get done. Make a list and cross things/add things as you go.
I am a multi-tasking whore - the bottles/nipples/pump will be sterilized while LO's clothes are in the wash and I am emptying the freezer to make way for "easy-make" frozen food, etc...
Things will get done, dontcha worry!
I was like this about 2 weeks ago and made a major "to do" list, and after a trip to the hospital this past weekend and being diagnosed with preterm labor, I got as much done as I could. That was great and all, but now it's Monday and I had to make another (yep again) trip to the hospital for preterm labor and get a shot to stop my contractions.
Now I guess my DH will have to tackle my leftover "to do" items since I've been restricted to bedrest with only bathroom privledges for the rest of the week
.
Hang in there...you will get things done! Like PP said, just do one thing a night.
