Yesterday morning I got a call first thing this
morning that my old college roommate passed away. There were four of us
that lived together for 2 yes and I still can't believe it. It hasn't
really hit me yet. She lived in Chicago and one of our other roommates
lives here by me, the last one in VA.
She hasn't been feeling
well the past week or so. She's had asthma before but I don't know if
it had to do with that. All I know is that she was with her boyfriend
(Jimmy) and they were about to to to bed and she had a seizure. As far
as I know that was her first. She came to it and they called the
ambulance and when they got there they thought she was just having a
panic attack. Jimmy had to go upstairs to let the dog out (they locked
it in the room with the EMT's were there) and I guess she took a turn
for the worst because they just left without him. She had another
seizure in the hospital and her heart stopped. They tried to revive
her for 2 hours. She passed at 3:30am.
Quick note - Jimmy had
been planning on purposing to Lindsay (my friend) next weekend at a big
cook out with family and friends he planned. They talked about getting
married and even started making plans but it wasn't official yet. As
he went in to say his final goodbyes in the hospital room, he got down
on one knee, asked her to be his wife and to have his kids. He hoped it
would make her happy as she went to heaven. Jimmy kept saying he wished
it had been him to go b/c Lindsay's too good of a person. He said he's
waiting for her to come sit next to him and tell him it'll be okay.
She was such a wonderful person - FULL of life. She just finished her
masters. She has had so much guy drama in the past and she finally
found the guy she was supposed to be with. They've been together for
the past year and a half and she couldn't have been happier.
I can't believe it. I just saw her not too long ago. I've never had a
close friend like this pass away and I don't know what to do. It
hasn't hit me yet... I'm sure it will soon.
Please keep her family in your thoughts please. There will be an autopsy performed to find out what really happened.
I wanted to share a few pictures from college...
(she's the one in the middle)

And our wedding (far right)

(to the right of me)
