baby's first passport stamp!

I surprised DH with a weekend in Vancouver for Father's Day- its only a 3 hour drive from Seattle!  When we got to the border, I asked the Canadian customs guy to stamp Bean's passport, since it was her first trip across any American border.  He laughed and said that they are supposed to do full criminal background checks before stamping any US passports, but he figured she'd be in the clear.  Its ridiculous how excited I am over that little stamp in her passport.

BTW- we had a great time in Vancouver- at the aquarium there was a 2 week old baby beluga whale (cue the Raffi music) and we got to see it nursing from its mommy.  So adorable- though trying to explain that fish don't nurse and that mammals do, so that's a mammal, not a fish- to a 21 month old was funny.  DH just rolled his eyes at me.

  • Cute! Glad that the customs guy was so easy going with the stamp. How much trouble can a 21 month old cause in such a short amount of time?? Oh, nm....
