Infertility

MFI Weekly Check In

MFI Weekly Check In

This group is for those of us dealing with male factor issues.   We welcome everyone but mostly we are dealing with low count, motility, morphology or all three.  Male infertility is a mysterious world filled with questions no one, including REs, urologists, acupuncturists or anyone else seem to have the answers to.  Any treatment suggested is a coin toss for success and a 3 month wait for a fresh batch of swimmers.  Most of us are told the only answer is IUI or IVF w/ICSI.  The purpose of this group is to support each other through shared experiences and to share any info we can because the more informed we are the better.   We have a check in every Monday morning but I will try to post a link later in the afternoon/evening also.  Welcome and baby dust to all!

Re: MFI Weekly Check In

  • Hi everyone! I was out of town last week, so I'm hoping to see a lot of BFP's in this check in :)

I am in total limbo land right now. We're going to do one more SA, I'm going to get second opinions from the uro and my ob/gyn if they would do an IUI with those numbers, and then meet with the RE and come up with an action plan. I'm still hoping we can do a few IUI's but I have gotten scared that it's not very realistic. We'll see....

We are adopting! Currently waiting for our domestic infant adoption match.

  • We are in limbo with ya!  DH has another follow up SA in July.  I also have to have a D&C to remove a polyp when AF shows.  I am guessing that will put us out of the game for July as I think you have to wait at least 2 weeks to have sex.  I too am praying that the numbers have increased enough for some tries at IUI.
  • Hi everyone!

IUI#1 was officially a big, fat failure.    AF was 2 days late and despite some spotting, I had gotten my hopes up.     Nope.    all for not.

So now I'm with an RE (previous treatments were with my ob/gyn who did a great job, but we felt it was time for the specialist).   And I'm on Clomid again, cycling towards IUI#2.

    good luck to you all!

Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation.
    Because we're fancy like that.

  • Hi - i hate to be here, but can I join the group?

We have appointments with Urology and RE this week and next week to try to figure this thing out.

1st SA was this month...  everything was great except for 27% motility and pH 8.1, which was slightly elevated. We're hoping for some answers this week, but not getting our hopes up.

I keep telling myself it could be worse - and everyone (friends) says IUI will help - but I'm still hoping.

Hi everyone.  The only positive development with us is that we saw a different therapist last week, someone we both feel positive and does not remind me of my evil MIL. I am feeling optimistic that therapy will be beneficial for both of us and Jason can get "unstuck."

It would be nice to see some BFPs this week.

Hi ladies! I have 1 week left in my 2ww. I banned myself from google and this other IVF board b/c it depresses me. I'm trying my best to stay positive and keep my mind of the wait. I had OHSS but I finally feel normal again so I'm glad about that.
  • Hi Ladies!  ER was Saturday and we have 7 embies cooking as of yesterday.  5dt will be Thursday.  I was hoping we'd have a few more since they got 17 eggs.  They did ICSI on 12 - 7 of thos fertilized.  They tried to fertilized the other 5 normally, and none of those made it.  I'm nervous because last time we had 8 embies, but by day 5, only one had made it to full blast.

Good luck to those w/ upcoming SAs and Betas.

  • Hey ladies!  We got a BFP yesterday with a home test and today my 1st Beta came back at 158.  We are so happy and nervous too... we want to keep this one!  Thank you so much for the support and encouragement.

  • I am playing the beta game right now, wondering if IVF/FET cycle #4 will actually be the one that works.

If not, we are off to CCRM for a one-day workup in July.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
