For those of you who who aren't aware of my story - here it is in a nutshell... About 10 days ago, I had a LOT of bright red bleeding and a large clot - enough to fill a pad. I thought for sure I was miscarrying, but lo and behold, a few days later, I found out my HCG was still doubling, and my Ultrasound (one week ago) measured 5weeks 3 days - exactly where I should have been.
I was feeling a lot better about the pregnancy, but then, a few days ago (on Friday), I started spotting brown blood and brown discharge (even now, I'm still spotting). Again - my mind started to fear the worst, and I was preparing myself for another miscarriage before today's Ultrasound. To add to all this, my symptoms (frequent urination, zits, tender boobies) all kinda vanished after week 5.
So, my hubby and went this morning for my 2nd Ultrasound, and there was a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!! I have a little miracle baby!!!! It was the most beautiful sight in the world. My baby's little heart was beating at a rate of 120, which the Doc said was a healthy number!! I started crying, I was so happy. I remember as soon as I saw that little flicker on the screen, I gasped. Such an amazing moment. My last pregnancy never reached the point of a heartbeat, so this was a huge milestone.
So - for those of you who worry about spotting or lack of symptoms, hang on to hope. I purposely put titled my post "Update on my bleeding, spotting, lack of symptoms, and Ultrasound" because I know so many of you have gone through some of those things, and I want to give you a story of hope! I know it's still early, since I'm in the first trimester, but my heart is a lot more at ease now.

~ Miscarry at 8 weeks with D&C in May 2011 (low progesterone).
~ Had a healthy baby girl in June 2012 via C-Section (on prometrium to sustain).
~ Surprise pregnancy at age 40! Baby boy due April 26, 2021 (took prometrium to sustain once pregnancy was confirmed, 3rd C-Section planned).
I'm sure seeing the heartbeat was just the best thing! I'm so glad everything is okay and I hope it stays that way!

Thanks for all your support and excitement, girls!!!!
In terms of the bleeding and spotting, they thing it was caused by something called a subchorionic hematoma (a blood clot). Apparently, most pregnancies aren't affected by these hematomas, so the doctors weren't worried, and they think I already passed the clot that was causing the trouble 10 days ago, when I had all the red bleeding.
