I hope my doctor never gives me an estimate because I honestly don't even care to know, lol! Plus, how accurate would that be, really?

I started asking around 36 weeks. She was estimated to be about 8 lbs last Wednesday, so I can't wait to see this Wednesday if he thinks she has grown more!

Mine is pretty close-mouthed about the whole thing. He's very careful about what he says...when I asked about it a few weeks ago, he was quick to tell me that I was growing on schedule, so everything is pointing to me having an average-sized baby (7-8 pounds).
I'm going to have a growth u/s next week, so I'm assuming he will have more of an idea then, though he did remind me how those can be off by as much as 2 pounds.

I mean measuring my belly i am right on target, but i just wonder in pounds what this little guy is going to be... i mean keep hearing o he will be a big boy ( from family and friends) so i just curious.. I guess i can ask at my appointment tomorrow.. We dont get Growth U/s
He was average at my 21 week unltra sound and he is growing normal. All she will tell me is that he seems average so we shouldn't ahve a problem as I have big hips and can push out a huge baby (she said 14-15 pounds and I said no way in ****)
Me DOR amh .64 ng/mL

Told IVF is the only option and have not found a clinic that will take me.
I have not had a growth U/S. I have been consistently within normal measurements and have no complications, so there hasn't been a need for one. Just by everything else though, my OB seems to think she will be small-average.
On Friday my midwife just kinda felt my belly and said 7 lbs. maybe 8. I am supposed to have an ultrasound tomorrow to measure fluid levels since I am "overdue" and I'm guessing that they will estimate the size, but to me....it doesn't mean much. They are not always that accurate.
I should be getting one around 35-36 weeks, but that's because I've started losing weight and my fundal height measurement has been small for the past three months. Otherwise I probably wouldn't get one at all until right around my due date.
I had a growth u/s at 28 weeks, then again at 32 weeks. They are planning to do a third one at 36 weeks. Our baby from the outside was consistently measuring 4 weeks ahead, which was worrying the doctors. Everyone I have talked to thinks it's a bit strange that they've done so many growth u/s, but I'm glad they're being cautious. (At 32 weeks, they were estimating he weighed around 6 lbs. 4 oz., which was almost 4 lbs. bigger than he measured at 28 weeks...yikes!)
32 week Ultra Sound - from there on it's estimated at an additional 1/2 lb. per wek.
Mine clocked in at 90th percentile - 4 1/2 (US Machine) - 5 1/2 (US tech) so they're putting me on weekly visits plus stress testing and will give me another US the week I am due. The baby is estimated at approx. 10 lbs - which may require a C-Section.
My doctor wouldn't give me an estimate off the top of her head. I had a very extensive growth u/s at 38w4d. The tech est. him at 9lb 4oz, the Peri estimated him at 8lb 15oz. either way, big baby!
I actually have had two and might end up with another around 37 weeks. First was at 29 weeks, baby was est. at 3lbs 7oz. Second was last week at 33 weeks, baby is at 6lbs.

Ditto. I'm not sure my midwives even do this, unless there is some other suspected medical issue that needs to be looked at and even then like you said, it's an estimate that usually means squat.
THe doctor told me at an ultrasound at 35 weeks, and then again at 37 weeks. Although it is just an estimate and can definitely be off a bit, the estimate range was high enough for them to strongly recommend a scheduled csection for week 39/40 since the baby would be way too big to deliver vaginally at that point, if I make it that far. If I go into labor in the next few days, we're going to try a vaginal delivery.
Point being, the growth/size ultrasound can definitely be helpful, even if it is not entirely accurate!

we did ours at 37 weeks.

I get them once a week.
