Are you washing your newborn sizes yet or waiting to see how big your LO is? I guess I'm afraid I'm going to go overboard with washing and Grayson won't wear any of the stuff. He has a TON of clothes!!
I have no clue when to start washing clothes. I think I'm going to do it after my childbirth class when I will be 36 weeks. I just don't want it to sit too long just building dust up again.
All the used clothes I got I have pre-washed but I guess I'll be doing it again since I didn't think about getting special detergent. I'll pre-wash my favorite clothes when the time gets closer and then wait on the rest to see what will fit.
I washed them. I only have like 7 NB sized clothes anyways right now and they were all gifts from wherever and half didn't even have their tags on when I got them. Isn't NB size 8-12 lbs anyways or am I thinking diapers?
I didn't wash any of the bigger clothes we got though.
NONE of the clothes I received came with a gift receipt, so I couldn't return them. But, I'll probably need everything that was given, so it's not a big deal. I washed everything from NB through 3-6 mos. I know LO will be small so she will fit into NB sizes. The only think I'm slightly worried about is if "she" is a "he" and the U/S tech gets her gender wrong...but I've gone in for twice weekly U/S for several weeks now, so we're fairly confident that she's definitely a girl!

I washed everything... most of the newborn clothes were from garage sales or were clearance items, so I'm not worried about taking them back. We didn't get many newborn sized clothes anyway, so she'll probably end up wearing everything at least once (and we'll have to go buy more if she's tiny )
My DS was 8lbs 1oz at birth and even NB sized clothes were a bit big at first. Unless you have a really big baby I bet you will use your NB clothes! I will prewash everything this time too, we don't have a ton and I am positive we'll use what we do have. If anything, I'll be sending DH to the store to get more tshirts and onesies in the early days.
I washed everything. ?The doctor is predicting that he'll be small, so hopefully he'll wear it all eventually. ?I'm too impatient to leave stuff laying around.

I have no newborn-sized clothes, just 0-3 months (8-12 lbs) and up. I figure with my family history the baby probably won't be smaller than 7-8 lbs so the 0-3 month sizes will work just fine, especially if they shrink in the wash. Newborn only goes up to 8 lbs.
Me: 44 DH: 42.
DS born healthy at 40 weeks 8/24/09.
TTC since then with no luck or ART.
Surprise BFP 8/6/14... MMC @ 8 weeks 4 days... Miss you everyday sweet baby angel.
I debated on this, then finally decided to wash all my newborn clothing. I don't have very many to wash, and I am getting ready to do all the bedding and blankets as well. Although I did wake up in the middle of the night and remember that I bought a few newborn onsies a couple months ago, so I have more than I thought....DR. said he thinks she'll be around 6-7 lbs so I'm sure she'll need newborn clothes for the first couple weeks or so!!
