I realized earlier today that I hadn't been feeling Gabriel move very much, So I decided to do a kick count... and panic followed.
After laying down on my left side for an hour, I'd only felt him move (for certain) 3 times, so I freaked. Tried calling my doctor's answering service, and it rang and rang and rang. After about 10 minutes of trying to reach the on-call doc, I called L&D.
The nurse I spoke to put me in touch with one of the residents, who proceeded to tell me that I needed to call my doctor. Well DUH, right? I explained to her that I had tried, and that no one was answering. She said I needed to give them a chance to call back. I asked her (sounding progressively more and more hysterical) how the hell were they supposed to call me back, when no one would answer the phone to begin with?? By this point I was almost in tears. Stupid resident FINALLY got what I was saying to her, and took my name and number herself, and called the on-call doctor. He called me back in less than 5 minutes, and told me to get to L&D for monitoring, which we did.
Gabriel's heartrate was good, and he was very reactive. He was actually moving around a LOT, but I couldn't feel it. My blood pressure was pretty high at first, but the nurse said that was to be expected. The next time she checked it, it was normal, and the baby was good. They did an u/s to check my fluid levels (which were perfect), and the baby looked great. I'm still only 3cm and 60% effaced. While I was hooked up to the monitors, I only had 2 ctx... but one we left the hospital, I went back to having them every 10 minutes.
So, I'm back at home... still pregnant. This boy is taking his own sweet time!
Re: My trip to L&D.... (everything is fine)
Wow - what a scare! I'm glad he is ok in there though. And how fun that you got another u/s! I really wish I could have seen what Megan looked like in there in those final few days!
Hopefully now that Gabriel has seen L&D and that it's really not that scary, he will decide it's time to come out and meet the world!
I asked my doc about this, and he told me he won't induce before 42 weeks unless there is clear medical necessity. If I make it to my due date (which is this coming Wednesday), I'll have twice-weekly NSTs, and as long as everything still looks good, I can go to 42 weeks. If he hasn't come on his own by my 41 week appointment, they'll go ahead and schedule an induction date, but it won't be before 42 weeks.

Wow, that is scary and so frustrating that she couldn't just understand what you were saying!
Hopefully with regular contractions, you'll progress a little bit and he'll be here soon!
You and me both lol!! I hope you had fun at the game!
I am glad that you and baby are doing ok, I know how scary it can be...I went in for movement issues not feeling her at all but according to the monitors she was moving up a storm.
I will send labor dust your way and hope your little baby comes soon and safely
