So thanks to everyone who voted yesterday on my list of totally different girl names from the one I think we've finally agreed on! :)

 What do you think of Mila?

Might do Jolie as a middle name (my husband is really into that), but that's still up for discussion.

    After I asked I thought of Mila Jovovich...the actress. I knew I had heard it somewhere! As I said, it is NMS, but if you love it, go for it! If you are looking for other mn suggestions, how about something more classic, like:

    Mila Catherine

    Mila Grace

    Mila Susanne

    Mila Diane

    It's pretty, though I'd pronounce it "My-la". Maybe giving her a longer middle name to balance it out. doesnt balance out right I think.

    I really like Mila but I am not a huge fan of it paired with Jolie.  I think the MN should have one or three syllables to mix it up a bit...

    This is actually our top girl name.  Another Mila is Mila Kunis.  Milla Jovavich is spelled with two "l's."  We have picked out Mila Rose or Mila Eleni.

    It's going to be constantly mispronounced. Mee-lah would have been my third guess, after MYLA, then MILLA.

    I like the name Mila and agree with your pronunciation. I know a lady ( a wonderful, kind, and talented lady) with this name and pronunciation. Go for it!

    TTC since 8/13 - diagnosed difficulty conceiving due to LP defect. Took vitamin B and Vitex Berry to help lengthen.
    BFP 2/14 - Missed M/C found at 8.5 weeks. D&C at 9w2d. Partial Molar Pregnancy.

    I love Mila. I'm not a huge fan of Jolie (Angelina ruined it), but it does sound cute together.

    I would have pronounced it like Lila (and know a Mila who pronounces it that way).  Just be prepared to correct people all the time!

    I love the name Mila. We actually use it as a nn for a good friend of mine, her name is Milagros....but Mila alone is much better!

    are you pronouncing it my-luh? if so, it's nms but i LOVE the name Milla (like milla jovovich) pronounced mee-luh.
