3rd Trimester

People that work at Motherhood Maternity..

Are they ALL super friendly? Don't get me wrong, it's nice to see someone talkative and as willing to help you as they seem, but wow! The lady today was chatting my ear off, and I only had about 2 feet in the door!!

I've been in 2 different stores and both times I've been kinda shocked at how talkative and friendly the ladies that work there are to everyone.

It's kinda nice! I wish other stores would pick up on this trend..

Re: People that work at Motherhood Maternity..

  • Ugh, no! The employess at the Motherhood by my house are SO rude. I hate going in there!

  • Most are, but the manager at my local one is a total B. ?The first time I went in there she was very cold to me. ?When I went in again, she was do some training with her employees and was over the top nice. ?It was so fake and phony. ?The other stores I've been in have been a pleasant experience though.

I've been to two Destination Maternity stores and they are the same way... even offering a bottle of water or oj.

  • I love going there - I feel so pampered.?

However there is this one girl there that is always the same belly size and wearing the motherhood brand. I can not tell if she is actually pg or wearing the fake belly they put in the rooms. Each time it boggles my mind she would be the exact same size. ?

  • It's nice of them, until they try to follow you into the dressing room, then it's just plain creepy!
  • I'd like to say that I have had similar experiences but it kind of depends on who is working.  Sometimes I get no reponse while other times they do hunt you down to talk.

  • They are friendly but I hate when I'm trying on clothes and then they bring extra clothes that they "think" I might like to try on.

  • My local store is very friendly, doesn't matter which associate is working.

  • I hate that. I want to be left alone while I am shopping. I hate when people come to talk to me, or ask me if I need help. The people at Motherhood annoy the crap out of me because they are too in your face. They aren't rude, in fact they are very nice ladies I just like being left alone.
  • I think you got lucky. I've never liked the girls at mine very much.

  • i think it's annoying when they talk so much and won't leave you alone. i like it when they just say 'hi - let me know if you need any help' and leave it at that
  • The ladies at the MM I visit have been so great that I emailed their corporate office to let them know. They have always been sweet and helpful without being overbearing.
  • The woman at the store I've been to twice was extremely overbearing, and was absolutely too much. The first time I went in I felt extremely pressured into the purchases I made, and the second time I tried to avoid/dismiss her but she was almost rude in her persistence. I left empty-handed that time. I'd love to be able to get a new pair of jeans from there, but she makes me feel homicidal.
  • I think it depends on the store.  There's a Motherhood by my office and I've gone there during my lunch hour and they're not as friendly (or as informed) as the staff at the Destination Maternity by my home.

But today at Destination, when looking for a casual dress to wear now?and after the baby is born, for his Bris?the sales clerk was so helpful and even found me a pair of capris (on sale!) that was under belly (hate the panel) and fit me quite well.
