We finally got my LO to latch on with a nipple shield. Is it normal to feel a pinch for a few seconds? I hope he is latching on correctly....he is definitely getting the milk.
I feel a pinch too once in awhile, but not usually right away. I think my pinch is coming from my LO biting down on the nipple shield and therefore my nipple.
i am trying my best to have my newborn latch with a nipple shield but she wont suck....how did u get him to latch??
Do you draw some milk down first so your LO knows something is there? in the hospital they nurses used a tiny bit of formual and a sringe to drop it on the sheild and her mouth and she would latch right on.
We had luck with the nipple shield at first...but than my son never seemed satisfied (even after 40-45 minutes), So, we just tried him at the breast again. He latches on after a few tries, and I know he is getting milk. I'm not sure if he is positioned right because I feel a pinch for a few seconds after he latches on.
