So my dog has been chewing on anything wood for the last 3 days... He chewed up our end table, then the corner of our desk and I just saw him attempting to chew on the floor boards... Should I be calling the vet or something he hasn't done that before.

I've never had this problem with my dog but we took her to training classes and you can buy this stuff at PetSmart called Sour Apple, or something like that, and it won't harm your furnishings. Apparently dogs don't like the taste of it. I would maybe try this first since it will be much less expensive off the bat.
I was thinking of suggesting that too. They're called Bitter Apples .
Since he's a puppy his "big" teeth might be coming in. My dog is 10 months old too - and he has been going through chewing spurts. This is my guess. ::shrugs::

This - we have a 3.5 month old boxer that chews on everything! but since we've sprayed this she wont go near it
If he's still a pup, I wouldn't worry about it too much from a health perspective then. You just may need to keep an eye on him and try to deter him from the chewing. Someone sugguested the apple stuff...it is bitter apple

We never had any luck with it when we were training our dogs. Yelling at the offending item worked much better. Neither of our dogs will chew anything that they are not given.
Thanks for the suggestion! :: running off to get this sour apples thingy::
I agree. Do you have a Kong or any other hard rubber chewies?
Thanks! Definately will be doing this!
bitter apple never worked on mine - i went with Bitter Yuck - which I knew was gross when i mistakenly tasted it on my hands after washing, barf!
I second the kong thing as well - we stuffed our with peanut butter and cheese and froze it overnight - Buddy would be occupied for hours.....he did have a phase where he chewed on our coffee table, ugh. I think it was something to do with the finish on it.......anyhow, also look at Petstages toys at places like Petsmart, they are geared for every puppy stage up to a year or so.....
Ditto to above.
This is normal puppy behavior, no reason to call the vet. How is he chewing so much stuff without you noticing? If need be, and its a serious problem, you can tether him to yourself or just keep him in the room with you so you can catch him in the act. Also, go get him some appropriate chewing outlets (careful of rawhide though, it can get lodged in thier throats since it expands). Bitter Apple is great in theory, but some dogs love the taste (mine included), so it might not have the desired effect, lol.

he is just being a puppy!!
Sorry if I repeat but...
at 10 months your dog could still be teething. Also at 10 month your dog should not be left alone while you are gone not supervising him. I am a firm believer in crate training. Puppies and younger dogs and get into a whole slew of trouble and the crate keeps them safe. Some people think it's not nice to crate a dog, but it is. If you dog would eat something and get a blockage he would need surgery. If he is contining to be destructive you may say enough is enough and give the dog away. Keeping him in a crate is the safest best option. Also, frankly dogs like crates, I would leave his crate door open at night and would often find him sleeping in there door open. It's den like and thats what they like.
Lso, destructive chewing can also be a sign of bordom. Make sure your dog has a bunch of brain toys such as the buster cube etc. Alot of these toys can be found at PetSmart or Petco. But basically they have to figure out how to get the treats out of the ball/cube/toy etc.
Exercise is important too. An exercised tired dog is way less apt to chew (assuming he is done teething)
