will LO have a lot of close in age cousins/friends?

I was thinking about LO's first birthday party (far in advance I know but the carousel party that I want books a year out) and it occured to me that our LO will be the only baby there.

The next closest cousins are 6+ years old....

I'm also the first out of all my friends to be having a baby, so unless they jump on the baby bandwagon, ours will not have any babies in his/her age group...

Anyone else?

    Our LO will be the only baby in the family.  The next cousin is 7.

    Nope, LO is the first grand and great-grandchild for both sides so no cousins and no plans for cousins anytime soon.

    The youngest of my cousins is 17 and my youngest 2nd cousin is 2, but all of my fam is in the States and I am in the UK right now.

    LO will have a cousin who is gonna be almost exactly a year older, and we have neighbors with babies. We joke that the neighbor boy who is 6 mos. is gonna be her boyfriend lol..

    There must be baby fever in my family because one of my cousins just had a baby 2 weeks ago, and three more of us are due during July/August.

    My son will have a cousin that is a month or two younger than he is, and several that are within 2 years of him...but they live 1,000 miles away :(. Down where we live, no - there are no other children within 8 years of him.

    I am first of all my friends who live here & the first out of my family & DH's family to have a baby.  It's kind of sad because I've been thinking about this too... she is going to be alone for a few years I'm sure.

    I'm the first cousin to have a baby in my family, but I have very young aunts (big family).. But the closest 2nd cousin to her will be four.. SO has a few friends with babies, one is due in November, but the rest are at least one... So while we have people with babies, we don't have many!

    At DH's family events there will be 3 kids close in age, but none at with my family.  I do have a few freinds with babies, one that is due a month before me, but they live about a hour away.  i am kinda bummed

    The baby's cousins are very far away, but my friends are seriously all having babies this year, so he will have LOTS of friends and we want to try to have mommy and me playgroups together.

    Guess now that we are all in our 30's it was time!?

    My LO will have DD (she'll be 23 mo when born), their oldest cousin is 11 then 10, then 8, 6,5, 1. Then there are 4 of us SILs that are having babies within 2 months of each other, one is due next week, then me, then one in October, and the last around Christmas!!!  I have a rather large family, but it is nice!!  Plus I have 6 friends with children my LOs ages.

    Our little boy will have lots of buddies close in age. We have 6 friends having/had babies this year and my SIL just had a baby in March.

    DH's cousin just had a baby 2 months ago, and my close friend had a baby a month before that. The next closest is my other friend who has a 3 year old. They are all boys too, so I have a feeling she will be growing up as a little tomboy.

    Our LO will have 3 cousins, 8,7, and 3. All of our friends have kids, the oldest is 5. I am the last out of 3 friends to have a baby within the last year.

    I have four neices ranging from 10 to 5 and DH has two nieces who are 6 and 3.  I do have several friends who had children who will be within a year or two older.  I have a super organized friend (whose baby was born in March) who is already checking out who will be in her baby's school grade and is organizing playgroup dates for them.  lol

    My DS will have a cousin who will be 4ish, and some older cousins.  He'll have a friend too (my friend is due 4 days after me).  More and more friends of mine have been getting engaged/married lately and looking to start families so we'll see what happens in the next few months.

    My little guy is ushering in a couple of his cousins. My stepbrother's GF is due two weeks after me and one of my little sisters (she's 23) is due in January.

    Other than that his other cousins are 18 and 10.

    Our LO will be the only baby.  The closest friend will be just over a year and after that, the next closest in age is a cousin that will be about a year old as well.  From there all other cousins/friends will be well over 3+.

    Nope, our daughter is going to be the only grandkid on both sides - until we give her a brother or sister! Neither DH or I have siblings, so she's it. DH's closest cousin of his own, in age, will be 9 this year, and his cousin Jesse's daughter is going to be 5 this year. On my family? Well, they are all nearly 1000 miles away, so kinda a moot point.

    What kids will be at the 1st party? Babies from our Parish. Smile?

    Mine will be the first and oldest great and grand-child on my side (aside from a cousin's kids who live really far away).  Beckett will probably be the only one for awhile, barring any sibilings, since I am the oldest on both sides of my family by a few years, and none of the others look to be having kids soon.  Thankfully, really, they're to young.

    His first cousins on DH's side are much older, the youngest is 9, but there are quite a few other cousins/nephews/relatives that will be somewhat around his age.  Our great nephew is 2, and will be a large part of our kids lives.

    We do have a lot of friends with kids in the age group, too.  Ironically, almost everyone has boys, so there will a t-ball team filled with our friends kids ;)

    Yes, SIL is due in September. DH's cousin is due in July. A few of our friends are PG or have little ones. I am actually glad that we waited awhile after we got married to have children (4 years). Its nice that we have friends/family with young children.

    Yes. And we are beyond thrilled about it!

    Our circle of friends is so close that we consider them family. 

    One couple had a baby girl last June so she and DS will be almost a year apart. 

    Another couple has a girl who is turning two in August. 

    A third couple has a boy who is turning 3 in November and they are expecting their second in October.

    A fourth couple is trying.

    We all spend TONS of time together and we joke that the kids get a long great now, but will be sick of always hanging out together by the time they are teens. 

     Also,  BIL and SIL are having their first baby in December.

    My LO will be 18 months younger than her two cousins and 9 months younger than my friend's baby.  Those are the 3 that will be closest in age to her!

    My SIL is due the day after me, plus we seem to be having a baby boom at church, with 11 babies due within months of each other. Looks like LO should have plenty of playmates.

     I'm sure you'll have plenty of opportunities to meet other new moms and babies in the coming months, though.

    Yes, LO will have several friends and cousins that are close in age.

    Two of my best friends are due in July and August (I am due in Sept).  Cousins will be 1, 2, and 3 at the time that LO is born.  All the cousins are boys and I am having a boy ... so I am sure they will have a blast together as they grow up.  Several other friends have children that are 2 or 3.

    My sister-in-law and I are due 5 days apart.  So we are racing to have the first grandchild.  Smile  Luckily we only live 15 minutes apart.  Grandma & Grandpa are already trying to buy them clothes like they are twins. It should be fun!

    My sister and I are due 2 weeks apart and we are VERY close!  My DS and her DD will actually be cared for by our mom when we go back to work.  Grandma gets two babies that will probably be confused as twins :)

    Besides that, we both have lots of friends that are also in the baby-making business lately and in the near future!

    My LO will have 2 cousins right around his age. My sister just had a baby in november and he will be 8-9 months old when DS is born. And my brother and his wife had a baby in decemeber so he will be 6-7 months old when DS is born. And then my last nephew is 3 years old and will be 4 in november. So yeah they are pretty close in age.

    I guess I'm lucky--there are 4 2-year-olds (including DD) in my Dad's extended family, my sister is expecting in October in addition to two other cousins that had/are having babies this year, and hopefully DH's sister will get pregnant in Sept/Oct.  And I guess I'm just at that age where everyone wants to have babies--I have yet to have any close friends have babies yet though.  :(  But there are a few people from my church and some acquaintances that have some children 2 and younger.

    she'll have a cousin that's a year old and i joined a mom's group where the kids are all young and close in age.  i also have a couple of friends who have already had their babies so it will be nice for ava.

    Our LO is the first in his generation on either side of the family. DH has some cousins/second cousins that will be 2,3, 6 when the baby is born. I have cousins who are 3 and 5. None of them live super close, so I am just thinking we will hopefully have a few friends with babies by then!

    My BFF's youngest will be 4 months when my DS is born, my nephew will be 2 YO, my DH's cousin's son is 2 & my SIL's twins are due in December.  Lots of babies around us!

    LO will not have any children cousins near him once we move. Until we move the closest children relatives will be his second cousins, the youngest being a little over 2.
