How do you pronounce Deborah?

Like Debra, D'bore-ah, Deb-er-ah or something else?  Is it a regional thing to pronounce it one way or the other?

fyi, I'm not considering the name for a child, it's just a debate I'm having with a friend.

If I said it slowly, it would be DEB-er-ah, but it comes off as DEB-rah most of the time.  I have never heard of de-BORE-ah.

One of the most OBNOXIOUS people I have ever met insists her name is pronounced Deh-Bore-Uh. I, and everyone else I have ever met pronounces it Deb-rah

Sorry, but it's such an ugly name to me either way

I say Deb-o-rah. Debra is Deb-ra. I do pronounce them differently because they are spelled differently.

It is my mother's name and it is pronounced Debra (although I'm sure there are some people out there who do pronounce it De-bore-ah - but they are in the minority).

Hmm, I wonder if we know the same Deh-bore-uh!  I find it so pretentious the way this lady says it.

Debra and Deborah are the same name just a different spelling. I happen to think it's a beautiful Biblical name.?
