Off to L&D or should I wait???

So today is my due date .. go figure Smile   Well, I went to the doctors yesterday and was 3 cm... I started having  contractions but figured it was from being checked.  Well they have been getting stronger but only about 10 mins apart.  For the last hour or so the contractions have been 4-6 minutes apart.  Now I only live 5 minutes from the hospital but my dh is self employed and I really dont want to call him if I don't have to.  what do you ladies think, should I call dh or wait a little bit longer???  

O, no bloody show but I didn lose my mp...

    Have the contractions intensified since being 10 minutes apart to 4-6 minutes? Drink some water and lay on your left side for an hour and see what happens. If they continue i'd definitely go in! good luck!!

    I think you should call him for sure.  May be able to wait a little bit more before going since that close but get husband ready to go.  I went to the hospital when mine were 5 minutes apart.  I never had the bloody show or water break.  They broke mine and I assume the bloody show happened later while at the hospital becuase never happened before.  Don't wait much longer though if they are 4 to 6 minutes apart, things can at times happen suddenly and then again could take hours and hours.

    Are they really painful? Make sure the contractions stay close together (or get closer together) AND get more intense. And call DH!

    Id call DH first but my doc says the 2 hours is the magical number.  But its up to you

    I would call your doctor's office and tell them what's going on...see what they say.  But I bet they'll want you to come in since they're close together.  R u in bad pain yet???

    Call your DH and go have yourself a BABY!!! : ) Good luck, and when you're finished with it, could you send that labor dust this way please?!

    the pain is getting more and more intense .. it starts in my back an then wraps around... and its def. more then they have been... I think I might call dh because he is working a hour away today Sad but I would feel REALLY bad if they stop after I call him... O well, he'll deal Big Smile

    I'd call your DH to give him a heads up, but I'd wait a bit to go in.

    If you can walk or talk through them, its too early IMO. But again, every labor is different.

    DD #1 passed away in January 2011 at 14 days old due to congenital heart disease
    DD#2 lost in January 2012 at 23 weeks due to anhydramnios caused by a placental abruption
