I need to stop going to the store. Everytime I do I walk out with several baby outfits. It's hard to resist the clothes though, they are so cute!
Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how many outfits I'll need. For the 3 month size I figure I'll mostly use long sleeve footed sleepers, how many are needed? I have about five Carters brand ones, do I need more? I also plan to get a few gowns, maybe two? What else should I make sure I have?
Re: How Many Baby Outfits Needed?
How often do you want to do laundry?
I didn't use the baby gowns because I was worried about keeping those little feet warm. Just stuck with the footed PJs. Heck that is what DS wore for the first 6 months! He had just a few other real outfits.
We had about 8 pairs of footed pjs, 2 sleep sacks (google halo sleep sacks) and lots of onsies.
In the case of clothes, I always say more is better - the less often you'll have to do laundry! It depends alot on how often your LO spits up and has diaper explosions, which you just never know til he/she is here. But if you can find some decent deals, I'd definitely stock up - if you figure a couple of outfits per day, that's 10-15. I love the Carter's footed pj's - they are such nice quality, really affordable, and seem quite comfy. Gap are nice, too, but tend to run pretty long - at least for my chubby baby! - and are a little more expensive.
I hated the gowns. DD's legs and feet always popped out and got cold! But some people love them, so.... Make sure you also have some plain Gerber or Carters onesies (Gerbers run really small) to layer under stuff in case it's especially cold. 5-6 should do it. And don't forget socks (5-6 should do) and hat and mittens for going outside (2 sets).
These are my recommendations, FWIW.... Enjoy your shopping!
