Anyone deal with PPD?

I know this is a very personal thing, but if anyone is willing to talk to me about it I would really appreciate it.  Suggestions on getting through it...this time around is seeming much more difficult then it was with the girls.  I'm sure part of it is because of our current finanacial situation.  Anyway, any advice or words of wisdom would be great.  If you'd prefer to talk by email, my email is jonesfamily AT sc.rr.com

Re: Anyone deal with PPD?

  • I would really suggest trying to see a therapist and consider the combo of therapy and medication.  Studies generally show the combo of both has the best outcome.  You are not alone--I think the latest stats are 1 in 4 women experience PPD.  Do you have mental health benefits through your insurance?--if you find someone in network, you should only have a copay.  If your insurance gives you a list of providers, I'd be willing to take a peek at it and let you know if I know of any that are really good (I'm a therapist).
