Did you know when the babe dropped?

Could you feel it as a definate sensation? In my class they talk about "the lightening" and say its awesome that you can breathe again, you can eat a big meal again, etc, but that you feel serious pressure and have to pee alot more (which, really - I pee like every hour. What is going to be, every 1/2 hour now?)

Re: Did you know when the babe dropped?

  • My gal pal says she didn't notice it happening, but sure felt the difference.

I can't wait to breathe again!?

I hope you can feel it. LO feels like he has been crushing my ribs and lungs for about a week and he keeps getting something pushed up under my ribs and I literally have to push it back out to breath! Some relief would be nice!
  • I didn't feel it happening, and quite frankly----I don't notice much of a difference with the breathing thing.  My heartburn is significantly improved though.  And I pee all the time.  The LO still has a little way to drop though.  For some of us, it's not an all at once kind of thing.
  • I could definately tell when my LO dropped..it was the day after my 36 week appt.  I can eat more food at once now...without getting soo full.  Lots more pressure in the pelvis..especially when standing up.  I also do pee more now...

  • The last two days I have had soo much pressure on my bladder and have had to pee like crazy.I almost feel like if I lean forward the baby could fall out from the front of my pelvis.

But.. my ribs are still full of feet. so I am in a no win situation. :( I think possibly because I have such a short torso I won't be getting the relief in my top half.

  • i noticed it over time...several days probably. you could just tell by looking at me he was sitting lower, and i started peeing even more. no 'lightening' for me.
  • LO is starting to drop.  I never felt one big "drop," or anything like that, but I guess he's taking his time, lol.  I can breathe and eat more, but I still have heartburn so I don't eat much more.  However, the new pressure I'm feeling is worse that being short of breath....so I can't say it's any sort of relief.  I can actually barely walk now, since I have such a small frame!
  • I had one baby and never could tell anything about dropping. never felt it, never noticed, no idea if it happend. Had some people comment the tummy looked "lower" near the end but I dunno! i also never saw or knew anything about my MP.
  • I can sooo tell a difference now. Yes I can breathe better and have less heartburn(thank God) but now I get up three times at night to pee instead of the usual once. It kind of happend over night for me

  • With my first I had no idea but I carried her very low to begin with.  My mom and dad told me that they actually watched me turn and drop the day before my mom went into labor with me.  My dad (of course) was completely freaked!  :)

This..exactly. Plus some of my female co-workers nicely mentioned that my boobs no longer have a shelf to sit on top of.

  • I could definitely tell. I started peeing way more, and I've felt tons of pressure since then.
