If I get to be the OB model on Monday, DH won't be able to come with me because they need me for 2 hours straight, and he has to work. (We are pending my doctor's approval, the instructor called this AM) Chances are that during this 2 hour period, the baby will uncross his or her legs, giving the tech a chance to make a gender determination.

Now to the part that make get snarked... I was trying to figure out a "cute way" to tell DH the baby's gender. (gag now) Anyhow, I came up with the following: He is a huge fisherman, and so I decided that if the baby is a boy, I will buy a snoopy/superheros fishing pole. If its a girl, I will buy a barbie/disney princess fishing pole.

Actually, I was thinking this too. Of course, I have a tendency to be a tomboy and laugh in the face of gender stereotypes. Maybe just a pink or blue fishing pole? The classic of all stereotypes.

I was also debating the whole "write it on an envelope and seal it" but I'd be ripping it open before DH would get home.

Or, a plain fishing pole, that you tie a pink or blue ribbon on with a tag that says "For Baby Max" or "For Baby Tori".

I'm cold-hearted and hate cute, but I like the idea. ?I do think a more boyish fishing pole would be better, because I don't think Snoopy would make me think boy.

That said, I really prefer the envelope idea, no matter how difficult it would be. ?I'd really want to find out together.?

Cute! That's similar to how DH and I found out.

Since he couldn't be at the ultrasound I had the tech write out the baby's gender on a card. I took the card to The Paper Store and picked out a pink Red Sox hat and a blue one. I explained the situation to an associate and asked her to look at the card and wrap up the appropriate hat. When DH got home we opened the box together. It was really a fun way to find out!

No matter how you do it, it will be amazing! I hope the babe cooperates!
