2nd Trimester

Those that know what you are having....

How gender specific are you going with things?

For example our nursery is nautical and boy themed and obviously clothes and such are boy. Our  big things like PNP and Travel Systems we registered neutral hoping we can use them for our next child. I'm just curious what you are all doing.

Re: Those that know what you are having....

  • same as you...the big things (travel system, pack 'n' play, etc) are gender neutral, but her nursery and clothes are completely girly.

  • Ditto, we don't know yet (we have the secret envelope on the fridge AHH) but all the gear is neutral for future children but the nursery will be over the top boy or girl!

Everything else like you mentioned in gender neutral to be used again in the hopes that we will have more..

  • We are the same.  Everything is gender neutral..travel system, highchair, bouncer, swing, play yard etc..  I know I want another baby one day I don't see the point in buying everything blue when a few years from now a girl might be on the way.  Too risky!  The nursery is pretty much 110% boy!
  • My things are all good for boy and girl..We are having a boy..and the bedding is more boyish  but it just has patterns on it..But the big things like stroller/car seat high chai/swing..and pack n play all good for both...I feel the same as you..and would like to reuse them..Wink

  • Most of what we registered for can be used again with our next child.  Nursery and clothes we are doing boy specific though.
  • we're doing gender neutral with most of the big things - so we can re-use them with future children. But the nursery bedding/theme will be a girl theme & of course clothing will be girly.

Gender neutral on major purchases. And now that I think about it, the few clothes I've bought have been kind of gender neutral as well. Note to self: buy more boy stuff!

  • We haven't made any purchases yet but know we wont be going down the girly route.  Her room walls will be light blue, furniture will be white and what decor to incorporate is what we're hung up on.

The baby gear like travel systems etc will be gender neutral for sure. We're planning on having another one right away (God, willing)

  • Her room is extremely girly as well as her clothes, but all major items including furniture are very gender neutral.

  • Specific--bedding, blankets, accessories, decor, bouncer

    Neutral--strollers, carseat, p&p, swing, mobile

  • just sticking with neutral for all the big stuff and bedding.  when the baby comes, we can decorate according to gender.
  • Other than clothes and small things I am trying to sick with neutral colors. If anything has a good chance of being reused for a future sibling I think it makes the most sense.

The nursery has a woodland theme, but I did buy girly bedding. We are getting two strollers, the big one is neutral. Our smaller light weight travel system is more girly looking, but it was sooo cheap. I won't worry if I have to get something different next time around.

  • Her walls are painted girly, but the furniture, pnp, travel system, bouncers, etc. are all gender neutral.  All we'll have to change out if a boy comes next will be crib bedding, wall colors, and clothes hopefully.

  • With DD - the u/s tech was never able to get a clear look, so we got all gender neutal items.  Now that we are having another baby, she will be getting new bedding that is girly.  I do have a jogger stroller I purchased after she was born and its girly, but I won't need it much anyways.
  • Same here! Our big items are gender neutral, but her room and clothes are definitely girly!
