I eat a turkey deli sandwich Monday-Friday because we have a great local deli right next to my work. I have not once "heated up" the coldcuts before eating them.

I lick the spoon or bowl when I bake brownies and DH isn't home and don't feel guilty about the raw egg in it. (Granted, I don't bake brownies but once every few months anyway because we usually just keep some low-fat ice cream in the freezer for our nightly dessert).
i still eat sushi - about once a week. i figure pregnant women in other countries/regions eat it all the time! and i also confess to the cookie dough - how can you make cookies and not test the dough? impossible if you ask me. dang, now i want to make some cookies.
Some coworkers took me to Jimmy John's for lunch about a week ago...since then I've been there 3 days for lunch and I think I'll go there again today. I missed deli sandwiches!
I bought a tube of cookie dough and a thing of ice cream the other night. Once I got home I mixed them both together. There is something about the actual cookie dough ice cream that I dont like. So I prefer to just buy the raw cookie dough and mix it in myself, because then I can go crazy with it.
Im a bad bad person as well, half caff or full caff once a week, tons of Diet 7-Up, the glass of wine here and there, sandwiches all the time and the occasional sneak of cookie dough.......I miss my sushi and would be eating it if I had any interest in it at this point, which makes me sad
FYI - when I asked my doc about the lunchmeat thing she stated it is for stuff that a deli would prepare (like fresh roasted turkey or raw uncooked hot dogs) She said due to FDA standards anything coming out of a major processing plant like Osacr Meyer etc has such strict regulations it all has to be cooked at a higher temp, she told me not too worry about it at all. It was eased my mind - anyone heard different?
I drink Coke and Sweet Tea everyday. I eat cheese dip when I go to the Mexican place, and I eat soft serve ice cream all the time. Don't even get me started on my seafood intake.
I still eat deli meat, hot dogs, I've had sushi (yes, the RAW stuff!), and the occasional glass of wine. I also had runny egg yolks but they made me feel crappy so I haven't had undercooked eggs since.

I'm so glad you shared the info about the lunch meat....I was in a full fledged panic reading this post! I eat deli meat on a sandwich a lot...especially since I've been put on a diabetic diet for the GD it's an easy lunch/snack to make...no one has told me different. I also eat seafood, but I've read that a little here and there, including fish (just not caught from the lake!) is OK and actually good for the baby's brain in the 3rd tri.
i eat sushi, had a few turkey subs, drink some soda every day (don't drink coffee so I think that offsets the caffeine overload, and if i ever bake, like the spatula.
1. Daily half-caf coffee - this turned out to be necessary. Otherwise I get killer headaches and the trade-off didn't seem fair.
2. In the last three weeks, daily Cokes
3. 4 glasses of wine of the course of the last nine months.
I felt so awful about #3...there is a co-worker of mine who said she was so careful what she ingested during her pregnancy that she didn't even take Tylenol ...does this seem excessive, or what???

no worries - I didnt even know about the lunchmeat thing till I started seeing random comments about it in mom magazines......
and also - runny eggs, med rare meat (which I guess is worse than the lunchmeat scare) soft cheese (no one is taking away my brie!)
rofl... sorry for peaking in ... i have not had Sushi, or lunch meat, beer (and i CRAVE THIS, and i am not a drinker) since i was told not to.... after seeing you all are alive... guess where i'm going tonight... SUSHIIIIIIIIIII and have an *small* ICE COLD BEER......

I cut my coffee intake down to 2 cups of 1/2 caff in the morning...but have to admit I LOVE a McD's hazelnut iced coffee on a hot afternoon! I've also had an occasional glass of red wine or a light beer (maybe one a week) and now don't feel so bad...
3: I love me some Jimmy John's - actually any sort of deli meat will do
4: I take drinks of DH's beer & have half glasses of wine on occassion
5: I definitely lick the spoon & any other left over brownie batter?
I do drink a lot of water & exercise regularly, though, so that's my justification... ?:-) ?Glad I'm not the only one who "cheats" & I'm sure we would be reprimanded by 1st tri.?
I'm eating a very delicious turkey sandwich right now and do not feel the slightest bit guilty. At lunch the other day I ordered a Diet Coke and the waitress actually told me I shouldn't be drinking it!!!
Uhmmmm F/U lady! I haven't had coffee, cigarettes or sushi in 9 months! I can have a friggin Coke if I want to.
PS- just so I don't get anything back, I am not going back to the cigarettes after my LO is born She's been the only thing that could make me quit!
Re: Pregnancy Confession...
Your baby will have three eyes.
I can relate by saying I eat sushi occasionally.
If I didn't have a coke everyday...I think I might kill someone.
Awesome haha
1. Half glass of wine in some occasions
2. Lick the spoon when I'm baking

ditto! couldn't live without it. lol
We can't have deli meat? Why not??
My doctor never mentioned that to me.
She said I can have sushi once a week, because I mainly eat snowcrab.
I can have one cup of coffee a day, but I make it half caffinated so I can drink two
I've had 2 glasses of wine throughout my pregnancy (My wedding day, my friends' wedding) .. but given the opportunity, I would have one everyday
I love a good turkey sandwich. Yum!!
(Don't let the 1st tri board see any of these responses!)
I can not make cookies without having a taste of the cookie dough...it's the best part.
I've also had some wine and love it (and miss it)
lol
