Yesterday I got a call from DCP at 11. Normally I go feed her at lunch at 12. She called asking if I could go feed her NOW. So, I did. I got there, she was super upset... I tried to feed her... she wouldn't eat, too upset.

I walked her around and sang to her, that helped enough to get her to eat a tiny bit but even after she calmed down, she would go back to fits of the sad hyper-ventalating (sp?) crying. Then I noticed she pooped. So I changed her diaper. She had a rash and was freaking out on the changing table when I wiped her. I felt TERRIBLE. She wouldn't calm down and I took her home... still not sure if it was her diaper rash, her teeth (she's cutting 2 big ones), if she had an ear infection... I.had.no.clue.

I gave her naked time, she did better. Anytime we'd go to the changing table, she'd freak out. I was able to stuff a burp rag (prefold) in a pair of training pants and put her down for a nap.

Lots of naked time and the rash was still bad... this morning, it's a bit better, but I feel so bad for her tushie (among other things).

Oh, what we used... bath, followed by air time, lotramin then desitin. It worked pretty well, but there's still some there. I'm hoping it clears up today... we shall see. I was this.close to going out and buying cloth diapers...

    Poor Jenna! Lots of naked time will help and if you can exspose the rash to the sun that helps too. I hope it is cleared up soon.

    :( Poor thing. D had a really bad one a few months ago and I felt SO bad for him. Destin and bag balm helped him. Lots of air time too. I hope it goes away today, and she starts to feel better. Oh yea, most likely don't need to say thing but of course no wipes only water on a cloth.

    Jenna was naked except for her nap yesterday... I did go outside and hold her bum in the air for the sun to get to it, too. I think she'll be going comando this afternoon, too. I hope it just doesn't get much worse while at day care today...

    aww poor Jenna AND poor mommy!!

    my ILs would wash C's tushie when it starts getting red instead of using wipes..plus we use aquaphor and that's been great for him...

    Awwwww poor J! Definitely the air will do it, so you are on the right track...have you tried changing the disposable type you use as well as doing the CD temporarily? Also anything new in her foods lately? I wasn't a believer in that, but my mom always tells me certain foods they eat could irritate the tushie more than others, who knows!

    Poor J - hope it clears up soon! You might try Triple Paste - it was recommended by M's pedi and has worked wonders clearing up any little diaper rash M had very quickly.
