Our girl is here! (Long BirthStory)

I love reading birth stories for information on signs & such, so here goes mine.

Last Thurs I had my 38 week appt, and my dr. did the 1st internal exam. I was 2cm dilated. The exam must've set something off because as soon as I got home, contractions started coming, around 11AM.

At 1PM, I started timing the contractions. They were coming 10 min apart. My DH was home with me because he doesn't like missing appts, and he wanted to go to L&D. I didn't want to be turned away so we waited. At 2PM, I couldn't talk through the contractions so I called my Dr. She told me to go to L&D. DH and I took our time getting last minutes things together, getting our dog taken care of, and I showered.

We got to L&D at 3:15PM. The nurse checked my cervix and I was dilated to 7cm!! At this point, I was in tears and I asked for the epi. I got the epi at 8cm around 4:30PM. Our little girl's heartrate dropped around 6PM and it wouldn't go back up. Luckily I was 10cm dilated by then, and I started pushing. After only 20 min. of pushing, our Kelly was born!

We love her to pieces! The pushing was hard and you really just want to give up, but my sweet DH was helping me push and encouraging me in my ear which really helped. GL to those waiting to meet your LO's!
